Meet Laura Baukol | Owner & Chief Sparkle Officer, Sparkling Alchemy

We had the good fortune of connecting with Laura Baukol and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Laura, what do you attribute your success to?
I think the key to Sparkling Alchemy’s success has been leading with heart and staying true to my mission: to inspire women to embrace their sparkle and live with joy.
I created Sparkling Alchemy to be more than just jewelry—it’s about celebrating yourself. Life gets busy, and we often forget to pause and treat ourselves. Whether it’s a permanent bracelet shared with a bestie, a bold new piercing, or celestial hair sparkles that catch the light, these aren’t just accessories—they’re moments of confidence, connection, and joy.
At the heart of it all, Sparkling Alchemy is about helping women feel radiant, empowered, and celebrated—every single day.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Sparkling Alchemy is more than jewelry—it’s about celebrating beauty, strength, and joy. I specialize in permanent jewelry, boutique-style piercing, celestial hair sparkles, and curated jewelry, all designed to remind women to embrace their sparkle every day. But what truly sets Sparkling Alchemy apart is the experience.
When someone steps into my studio or meets me at a pop-up, it’s not just a transaction—it’s a moment. There’s laughter, connection, maybe a glass of bubbly for them, and always that little thrill of seeing their new sparkle. I want every client to walk away glowing from the inside out.
Building this business hasn’t been easy. Like many small business owners, I’ve balanced Sparkling Alchemy while working full-time, navigated slow months, and worn every hat: marketing, sales, bookkeeping, you name it. But every challenge has been worth it because of the women I serve—the ones who leave feeling confident, seen, and celebrated.
But the sparkle doesn’t stop there. Through Sparkle of the Month, I donate a portion of my sales to charities that uplift women, protect animals, and care for our planet. Because when we embrace our own sparkle, we inspire others to shine, too.
My biggest lesson? Success isn’t about perfection—it’s about showing up, staying consistent, and leading with heart. When you trust your vision and listen to your clients, you build something truly special.
At its core, Sparkling Alchemy is about helping women celebrate themselves, find joy, and embrace their sparkle—every single day. Because every woman deserves to feel radiant.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting, I’d want to give her the perfect mix of sparkle, relaxation, and those unforgettable Colorado experiences. Here’s how I’d plan our week together:
✨ Denver Welcome & Wine Vibes
We’d kick off with an afternoon at woman-owned Trellis Wine Bar in Park Hill—my go-to for fabulous wine and ambiance. After catching up over bubbles, we’d head to Bistro Vendôme for dinner. Their cozy patio and French classics set the perfect tone for our week.
✨ Art, Jazz & Cocktails Downtown
We’d explore the vibrant, immersive world of Meow Wolf Convergence Station, then unwind with a cocktail at The Cooper Lounge in Union Station. For dinner, we’d indulge in exquisite food, expertly paired wines, and craft cocktails at Nocturne Jazz & Supper Club, where live jazz sets the perfect mood for an unforgettable evening.
✨ Pilates, Sparkle & Wine in Boulder
Our morning would start with a pilates session at The Body Refinery, right next to my Sparkling Alchemy studio. Post-workout, we’d enjoy the Sparkling Alchemy experience—bestie bracelets and laughter. The afternoon would be spent strolling Pearl Street, shopping local boutiques, and enjoying a wine tasting at BookCliff Vineyards.
✨ Mountain Escape to Evergreen
A day in Evergreen begins with coffee at The Muddy Buck, followed by a serene walk around Evergreen Lake. Lunch and wine tasting at Creekside Cellars, with its mountain-view patio, would rejuvenate us before returning to Denver.
✨ Spa Bliss & Hidden Gem Dining
After active days, relaxation calls. We’d indulge in spa treatments at The St Julien Hotel & Spa in Boulder or The Four Seasons Denver.
• In Boulder, dinner at Oak at Fourteenth offers an elevated yet relaxed experience.
• In Denver, we’d opt for Annette, a woman-owned gem in Aurora. Chef Caroline Glover’s award-winning, locally sourced dishes provide a cozy and intimate dining experience.
✨ Culture & Theater in Denver
Refreshed, we’d visit the Denver Art Museum or Clyfford Still Museum, followed by a leisurely afternoon at the Denver Botanic Gardens. Dinner at Rioja, another women-owned favorite by Chef Jennifer Jasinski and Beth Gruitch, would precede a show at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.
✨ Red Rocks & Farewell Brunch
Our final day starts with a visit to Red Rocks Amphitheater—because it’s iconic, and the views are breathtaking at any hour. We’d close out our week with brunch at Snooze, raising a glass to friendship, sparkle, and the perfect Colorado adventure! 🥂

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people who deserve a little sparkle in this shoutout! First, my husband, Matthew—my biggest supporter from day one. Whether he’s helping me set up events, guiding guests as they select their sparkle, or cheering me on through the ups and downs, I couldn’t do this without him.
I’m also endlessly grateful for the incredible women-owned businesses I’ve collaborated with, like Trellis Wine Bar, Five10 Brow & Beauty, HERHAUS, and more. This community of strong, talented women lifts each other up, and that support has meant everything.
And of course, my clients—the women who show up to sparkle with me, bringing their best friends, partners, moms, and daughters. Every bracelet, every laugh, every story shared means the world to me.
Lastly, a huge thank you to the mentors, coaches, and fellow entrepreneurs who have encouraged me along the way—Lyndi Love-Haning, Nicole Mattson, Grace Perry, Amanda Riffee, and Jennifer Thyrion. They remind me to dream big, believe in myself, and always lead with sparkle.
