Meet Yahdi Cotto | Doctor of Chiropractic, Epidemiologist & Positive Psychologist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Yahdi Cotto and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yahdi, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My journey toward starting my own bilingual chiropractic business began while working as a Research Epidemiologist in Puerto Rico, specifically in Breast Cancer Research. Listening to countless women express their desire to learn proactive ways to care for their health and prevent devastating conditions inspired me to seek a career focused on true preventative care. This led me to chiropractic, where I became passionate about corrective care and optimizing brain-body communication by removing interference in the nervous system. By restoring spinal structure, I realized I could be an instrument to help the body heal and function at its highest potential, ultimately empowering individuals to take control of their well-being.
Additionally, I witnessed firsthand how many cultures struggle to find doctors who speak their language, making it difficult to communicate their health concerns accurately. I saw this challenge with my own grandparents as they searched for compassionate doctors who not only provided great care but also understood their language and needs. This experience further fueled my commitment to creating a space where patients feel heard, understood, and empowered in their health journey.
Before opening my own practice, my experience came from working in major hospitals, where time with each patient was often limited. Owning my own business allows me to dedicate one-on-one time with my patients, tailoring care to their specific needs and helping their bodies heal in the best way possible. I would never change this, as I love being able to show younger generations—including my children—that it is possible to be a mother and an entrepreneur, to come from limited resources and to thrive as a double-minority female business owner.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets me apart from other chiropractors and healthcare professionals is my deep passion for not only helping patients function and feel better but also my meticulous approach to finding the root cause of their health issues. Over the years, I have seen many patients frustrated after being told their symptoms were purely psychological, when in reality, there was an underlying structural issue affecting their well-being. My expertise in structural correction from the Chiropractic Biophysics Institute and the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, allows me to assess and correct changes in spinal structure that can interfere with brain-body communication in all ages. From the womb focusing on Webster’s Technique (a chiropractic analysis and adjustment that helps improve the alignment of the pelvis and spine during pregnancy) to 90 years old plus we have created a space for patients to be supported. By focusing on spinal restructuring, we help restore proper function, promoting true healing from within.
With over nine years in practice, we have witnessed incredible patient transformations and testimonials that reinforce the power of this work. However, the journey has not always been easy. Challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and economic recessions have tested my resilience, but they have also strengthened my commitment. When you are truly passionate about what you do and dedicated to serving your community, doors open, paths become clear, and victory is always within reach.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend visited Colorado, I would take her to Stanley Marketplace for a light lunch, followed by a sweet treat at Sweet Cow. We’d enjoy kayaking at Aurora Reservoir, shop at Southlands Mall, and visit the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum. The weekend would be filled with brewery visits (I might be biased but I think Colorado has the best breweries), a scenic Georgetown train ride, and stops at Loveland Pass, Breckenridge, Frisco, and Vail. We’d also hike at Garden of the Gods and take pictures at Pikes Peak. With so many amazing places to explore, she’d need a month to experience it all!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My success and where I am in life today would not be possible without the unwavering efforts, support, mentorship, love, and encouragement of my parents. Both grew up in families with limited resources, yet they never let their circumstances define their future. Childhood friends who later married, they instilled in us the value of fighting for our dreams, no matter the obstacles. Through their hard work and sacrifice, they provided us with the gift of education and continuously encouraged us to pursue our passions. Their resilience and dedication serve as my greatest inspiration, and I am forever grateful for the foundation they built for me.
