Meet Dominique Washington | Pastry Chef

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dominique Washington and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dominique, how does your business help the community?
My business will eventually make people more aware of MS(multiple sclerosis). That’s what the MS stands for in my name. MS Nikki’s DeeLights!
Why Multiple Sclerosis you ask?, because I myself was diagnosed with this autoimmune disease. I never let it stop me and I thank God everyday that I am able to keep going.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Well MS Nikki’s DeeLights was born after I had my first child. I’ve worked in a few kitchens and I just knew I needed to start something for myself and the family I just started also while having a bigger picture. I want MS Nikki to eventually donate regularly to the MS Society to help spread awareness and hopefully a cure for multiple sclerosis. I think that makes me and the business a little different from others out there.
I’m excited to see what comes next day by day. I’m always just so proud of my supporters never leaving my side. They honestly keep me going.
I’ve learned that having your own business can be rewarding and scary and sometimes still. But you just have to keep going and do it because you love it. Not because of the money you make or don’t make.
So with that I want the world to know that Ms Nikki is still here and will be here for a while. It’s all made with love 💗

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A few favorite spots for me would be Mimosas for brunch, they have yet to fail me, I like My Kings ice cream for ice cream for a fun little dessert aside from my own lol. And for drinks I hit up Partners In Cream from time to time.
I also like Los Chingones for their taco plate. And just walking around the Denver outlets makes me happy.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mom(MS Nina) for sure deserves a shout out. Always being there for me and helping in any way possible. Also my childhood and college besties deserve a shout out. They are always there to keep pushing me forward when I need it.
