We had the good fortune of connecting with Sue Weller and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sue, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
After working in the corporate world for many years a good friend bought me Pilates sessions as a birthday gift. I was hooked. After that, I left the corporate world and certified as a BASI, Body Arts and Science International teacher. I went on to do my Gyrotonic certification and studied massage and metaphysics which I include in my teaching. I have been teaching for over 20 years now.

I ran my own studio in South Africa. After relocating to Superior Colorado I purchased the Center Your Body Pilates Studio in Louisville, Colorado.

I have had great opportunities during my career as a a teacher, helping rehabilitate people, including a member of the Saudi Arabian Royal family who had to have her back fused due to a severe scoliosis as well as working with clients who are training for Ultra Marathon races and clients looking for mind body connection, strength and flexibility. My passion and knowledge, together with my metaphysical understanding of the body, is my specialty.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I just had a friend from South Africa visiting Boulder for the first time in many years. The highlight of the trip was when we went to Canon City and took a ride on the Royal Gorge Train. It was fascinating and breathtaking. The journey along the Arkansas River and through the magnificent Royal Gorge with it’s views of the huge and stunning rock formations. Our guide on train filled us in on how the water pipes and railway was built. Looking up to the Royal Gorge suspension bridge was insane, Spotting the bighorn sheep with their fluffy white tails was such fun.

We hiked, drank wine and ate at many delicious restaurants. From Rosetta Hall to Stella’s Cucina, The Kitchen, Via Toscana, 24 Carrot and Busaba.

We shopped at Cherry Creek, the most beautiful shopping center and ate at True Food Kitchen.

My friend was blown away by the madness that is Meow Wolf. An overload of creative expression.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
After working for various Pilates studios for about a year I got the opportunity to purchase Center Your Body Pilates from June Kahn, a stalwart of Louisville. Her incredible foundation, passion and dedication made it easy for me to literally step in and continue an amazing legacy. I have the support and commitment of the brilliant trainers that worked with June and we are an incredible team. My husband, Brent is my rock. He supported my desire to once again own my own studio even though we were in a new country and coming from South Africa where the exchange rate does not make that easy. My son Guy who assisted with my digital footprint and my daughter Roxanne for reminding me that I “can do this”
