Meet Heather Quinn

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Heather Quinn again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Heather, always such a pleasure connecting with you and thank you for sharing your stories, insights and inspiring messages with our community. We’re looking forward to getting the download and what you have been up to since our last interview, but first can you briefly introduce yourself to folks who might have missed the prior conversation.
I’m a tattooer, muralist and graphic designer based in Carbondale, Colorado. I’m known by Sorta Interesting to those who don’t know me personally, I feel like a lot of viewers go by Instagram handles now adays. My art tends to lend itself to an audience that has an appreciation for a darker art style. My art involves dark colors and subjects which I believe sets me apart from artists that use a lot of color and lighter hearted subjects. The highlights of my journey as an artist has to be the people I’ve met along the way. I’ve made so many unique friendships and shared a lot of great conversations, I’ve learned a lot about human connection and similarities. I’ve gotten where I am today thanks to every single person who’s supported my art, be it through compliments or purchases.. I’m forever grateful and humbled by that.

Great, so let’s jump into an update on what you have been up to since we last spoke. What can you share with us?
I think right now I’m the happiest I’ve been in a really long time. I’m working with one of my best friends Brett Haynes in his tattoo studio, Bonedale tattoo. If you’ve not seen his work you can check it out at haynestattoos on Instagram. The shop is a really bright space and the energy there is amazing, it feels like a hangout where we get to spend time with people and evolve our skills. I’ve been guest spotting at his other location Twinscreek Tattoo, there’s another female artist there Payge, (paygetattoos) we have flash days and it’s a great way to connect with more people. I’ve been doing a lot of collaborating with artists in their studios. All of my friends seem to be doing really well which makes me happy. I have an upcoming flash event with my great friend Kelly Peters (kellypetersart) she’s started a studio in Aspen from the ground up and I could not be more proud of her, so we’ll be celebrating that. I’m so blessed to be able to do what I love everyday, I feel so lucky to have art be my life.
