Meet Roy Perez | Owner of Pro-Tech Auto Shield

We had the good fortune of connecting with Roy Perez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Roy, how do you think about risk?
Risk is an obstacle that can hold you back from doing something or making decisions. It’s uncertain, you can’t predict whether the outcome will be good or bad. It’s like walking blindfolded without knowing what lies ahead.
But to me, risk is also a test of faith, and since I consider myself a person of faith, I’m not afraid of taking risks. I enjoy stepping into the unknown, and risk has never been something that stops me. I don’t dwell on future consequences; instead, I trust the path God has put me in. This is where the 2C57 in our logo comes from, it’s a Bible scripture, 2 Corinthians 5:7

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
One thing I believe truly sets us apart is the experience I’ve gained from years of working in body shops. I understand people’s needs because I’ve been on both sides—first as a technician, and now as a business owner. I value honesty, and I never want to sell someone something they don’t need or something I don’t believe will bring real value to their life.
Getting to this point hasn’t been easy. It’s taken a lot of hard work, long nights, and faith, building this business one day at a time.
Starting without capital was incredibly challenging, and honestly, it’s not something I’d recommend. There is a lot of trusting in God and walking by faith. If it weren’t for what God has done for me, and if I had the chance to do it all over again, I’m not sure I would.
That said, honesty has helped me build strong relationships with our customers. Relationships that have become the foundation of our business.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For a good time, I’d start the day with a mountain bike ride, there’s nothing like the fresh air and the views up in the hills. After that, we’d enjoy a great lunch at The Butchery in Arvada.
I’d also take them to see the Golden Cruise, a fun local event with classic cars and a great atmosphere.
To top it off, we’d spend a week camping, unplugging from the daily grind, hanging out around the fire, and grilling some steaks. Nothing beats good company and the outdoors.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are four things I’m most thankful for: God, my family, my team, and my mentors.
God has always been by my side guiding me through both the good and the difficult decisions I’ve made.
My wife and kids have supported me through thick and thin. My wife, especially, has shown incredible understanding over the years, through late nights, missed dinners, and countless decisions. Her support has been invaluable.
Our employees have been a vital part of the business. Without their dedication and hard work, we wouldn’t be where we are today.
And finally, my mentors, whose guidance and wisdom have helped me navigate challenges, weather economic downturns, and stay steady in a volatile market.
