We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimber Dempsey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kimber, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I grew up watching my mother sell real estate, so I learned early on what it meant to build relationships and help people find home. In 2017, I took a leap of my own and opened a barbershop with my fiancé. Going off on my own path never felt daunting, truly it felt natural.
When I transitioned into real estate myself, I knew I wanted to carve out a niche that felt true to me. I didn’t want to help people find just any house; I wanted to help them find the house, the special one that truly felt like home, not a cookie-cutter copy. On the listing side, I understood how important it was for sellers to have someone who could see and celebrate what made their homes unique, rather than misrepresent or overlook their story.
Working for myself means I get to pour my whole heart into every client and every detail, even on those long days that start before sunrise and stretch late into the night. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

What should our readers know about your business?
I believe real estate is so much more than a transaction. It’s about creating a connection between people and place. I’ve built my business around the idea that a home should tell a story, and that every client deserves to feel seen and celebrated throughout the process.

What sets me apart is my focus on design, architecture, and storytelling. I specialize in mid-century modern and architecturally significant homes, helping people appreciate not just the square footage, but the soul of a space. From carefully crafted listing descriptions to curated marketing that highlights a home’s true character, I strive to present each property as a work of art.

I’m most proud of the trust my clients place in me. There’s nothing more rewarding than helping someone uncover the potential in a home or seeing their excitement when they walk into a space that feels “just right.” There’s nothing quite like living in a mid-century modern home, and once you’ve experienced it, you can’t go back to a “normal house” ever again.

Getting to where I am today hasn’t always been easy. Real estate is full of highs and lows with changing markets, tough negotiations, and the emotional rollercoaster that clients go through. But I’ve learned that staying true to my values, being relentlessly detail-oriented, and showing up authentically every day make all the difference.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that success isn’t about being everything to everyone; it’s about deeply serving the people who connect with your vision and expertise.

I want the world to know that my brand is built on genuine connection, thoughtful design, and a love for homes with personality and history. Whether it’s a mid-mod gem in the heart of the city or a reimagined vintage classic, my mission is to help people find or present a home in a way that honors its story and creates new ones.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As a vintage aficionado, I have a deep love for unique and historic places. I’m especially drawn to tiki bars, and I always encourage people to check out Hell or High Water, Electric Cure, Adrift, and Swaylo’s in Longmont if they’re up for a little adventure.

I also adore Denver’s iconic Pink Palace, Casa Bonita, and I’m thrilled it finally received the renovation it deserved. Acreage in Lafayette is another special spot, home to locally distilled Stem Cider, delicious farm-to-table food, and stunning views.

For art lovers, the Denver Art Museum is a must-see. It’s the only building in the U.S. designed by Gio Ponti and makes for an inspiring afternoon. And if there’s a show at Red Rocks, don’t miss it; the hike to our legendary amphitheater is worth every step.

Colorado offers incredible hiking, and I always recommend spending an afternoon in the foothills to experience our wildlife up close or heading to Lookout Mountain to see the buffalo herd and visit Buffalo Bill’s grave.

As a proud Littleton resident, I love strolling along Littleton Boulevard, where you can explore local shops and restaurants while admiring buildings that span from the 1870s to the 1970s, all within a one-mile stretch.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I serve on two nonprofit architectural preservation boards, Docomomo US/CO and Historic Littleton. The act of saving buildings and educating the community motivates me more and more every day. These organizations remind me exactly why I do what I do. For me, it’s not just about selling homes; it’s about protecting and celebrating the stories embedded in our built environment. Once people understand how special and irreplaceable unique architecture is, whether it’s a classic mid-century modern home or a hidden local gem I feel I’ve truly done my job. Preserving these designs ensures that future generations can experience and appreciate them, just as we do today. We need to safeguard our mid-century modern and other architecturally significant buildings so that they continue to inspire, connect, and shape our communities for years to come.
