We had the good fortune of connecting with Jigyasa Grover and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jigyasa, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success has been embracing progress over perfection and staying fiercely consistent. I’ve realized that it’s not about waiting for the perfect moment, but about showing up for yourself every single day, even when no one’s watching. That quiet discipline, those tiny daily wins, they compound into something powerful. I’ve leaned into growth, trusted the process, and built resilience along the way. Because success isn’t a single moment, it’s a mindset, a commitment to keep evolving.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My career has been a journey of purpose-driven innovation, resilience, and impact. From building large-scale ML systems at Uber, Twitter, Meta, and Faire to educating thousands globally as a LinkedIn Learning instructor and co-authoring Sculpting Data For ML, I’ve remained anchored in a data-centric, community-first approach. It wasn’t always easy—navigating imposter syndrome, gender bias, and the pressures of leading at scale, but choosing progress over perfection, showing up consistently, and believing in my voice carried me through. Being featured at Google I/O, earning 12+ global awards, and serving on advisory boards like Google Developer Advisory Board and Diem are proud milestones, but what sets me apart is my commitment to mentorship and ethical AI. I’ve secured international research grants, spoken on global stages including Harvard and the UN, and contributed to open-source communities that shaped my foundation. My story is about grit, generosity, and using tech to uplift others while leaving a meaningful mark on the world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d plan a week that captures the essence of the Bay Area, creative, scenic, and full of heart. We’d kick things off with brunch at some cool SF cafe and Golden Gate Bridge views from Crissy Field. The days would blend art at SFMOMA, hikes at Lands End, and a dreamy Big Sur road trip. We’d spend a day immersed in the tech scene, visiting OpenAI, Google, and Meta, followed by café hopping and meetups with friends in AI and startups. A wine-filled Napa day would add a touch of luxury, and we’d close with city sunsets from Twin Peaks. It’d be the perfect mix of nature, innovation, and meaningful moments.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My biggest shoutout goes to my parents and family for always supporting and hyping me up through every step of my journey. I’m also deeply grateful to my community for consistently recognizing and uplifting me, fueling my passion and drive. Beyond that, the incredible open-source community has been a constant source of inspiration with its spirit of collaboration and mentorship. I’m thankful to mentors and peers who challenged me to grow and push boundaries. Their unwavering encouragement has been the foundation I rely on, and I’m committed to paying it forward by lifting others just as they have lifted me.
