We had the good fortune of connecting with Vissia LTD and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vissia, what role has risk played in your life or career?
We believe that you have to take risks in order to be successful. You miss every shot that you do not take, and will not see the outcome you want without taking risks. It is important to be willing to fail and make mistakes in order to learn and advance to where you want to be. Risks are opportunities.
Vissia has had to take risks on getting into shows, new venues, and playing alongside new bands. Many times we have found success by taking our shot with these types of things and have made many great relationships that we would not have if we did not take those risks to branch out.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Vissia is not about just making music but rather making a vision. We strive to make people feel our music and evoke emotion through our notes and melodies.

We are proud of the two singles we have been able to put out and we are excited to finish up our recordings and will hopefully have our EP released later this year (date tbd). We are extremely proud of being played on radio stations such as “Underground Jukebox”, as well as “Rock Rage Radio”. This was a big milestone in terms of being able to share our music with the world!

We have gotten to where we are from the dedication and hard work that we have all put in to our craft individually. We have spent many hours playing separately and together in order to create something that we are proud of. We have become connected not just as friends, but as bandmates to the point we are able to talk to each other through our music.

Our journey has not been easy. We struggled with finding a vocalist who fit the vision of Vissia. There was a point where we had a solid vocalist, but life took them elsewhere as they moved states. The band decided to be instrumental until the right vocalist came along. We were determined not to let this stop us, so we continued to push through and make music in a different light. This allowed us to evolve and eventually find our current vocalist, John Hildebrandt, who came in and added a whole new element to our music by enhancing and stepping back where it was needed. This allowed us to evolve into a half instrumental band, keeping some of our songs from our instrumental era.

Some of the lessons that we have learned along the way is to be open minded, honest, caring, and easy to work with. A little bit of understanding and patience has made Vissia a well oiled machine. We have learned to weigh our risks and communicate as a team to make the best decisions possible for the band itself.

We would like the world to know that if you want to do something, whether that be musical/artistic, or a difficult career path that anything is possible. If it is something you really want to do, the only person who can stop you is yourself. It’s more rewarding to do something you love and have fun doing it than never attempting to try because anything worth doing is challenging.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If someone was visiting to stay with Vissia we would absolutely have to take them to Red Rocks, not only is it stunning to see, but being able to experience a show there is something everyone should do at least once in their lives. We would also take them to Coronados Mexican Grill as it is one of our favorite Mexican fast food places to go to! We would have to take them for a drink and a smoke (if they participate) on top of Ruby Hill Park. At night we would be going to any of the fishing spots around Colorado as there are too many good ones to name, and of course if they come during the winter we would be taking them to Golden for a day of tubing!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Devyn (Bassist)- The person I personally want to shout out is Gene Hartwig. My father has been there to support and help push me to become the best bassist I can be. He has always been a musical role model to me and is without a doubt my biggest fan. He has supported Vissia through thick and thin and is great at giving critical feedback and always tell us the things we need to hear even if we don’t like hearing it

Brandon (Drummer)- The person I personally would like to give recognition to is my brother Julian. If it wasn’t for him passing down his knowledge and getting me into drumming early on, I wouldn’t have the privilege and opportunity to create music the way I do. Julian truly introduced a new language in my journey in creativity ultimately leading me to Vissia.

Willie (Guitarist)- The person I personally would like to give recognition to is my mom Laura Harris. She has been to every one of my shows since I first started playing music. She has always filled the house with her beautiful singing voice while listening to her favorite songs. My mom has always been my biggest supporter and the reason I got into music, without her unwavering support I wouldn’t be where I am today.

John (Vocals and rhythm guitarist)- I would like to shout out my wife Ashley Hildebrandt who has been nothing but supportive in all phases of my musical journey. She continues to be my muse and my rock, in both everyday life as well as my musical endeavors. She is constantly pushing me and Vissia to be our best and gives honest feedback when necessary. I would not be able to stand on a stage nor write a note without her beside me.

Vissia LTD (Band)- We would like to shout out April Black Sinclair and Jade Sinclair. They both have helped propel us within our musical career. They both put in work to better the band without us asking and are the best merch people we could have asked for. We would also like to give a shout out to Sully at Witch Doctor Media who mixed and mastered our first single “Monarca” as well as Travis at Level 32 Studios who not only mixed and mastered our second single “Arson”, but has seen Vissia in all of its phases and never doubted our abilities while still giving us the professional advise that we need to hear to help propel us forward..
