We had the good fortune of connecting with Shawna Henderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shawna, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
At Majestic Mountain Events, we believe weddings can be both beautiful and sustainable. By offering high-quality rentals for weddings and events, we help couples celebrate without the waste that often comes with one-time purchases. Instead of buying items that may only be used once and eventually discarded, our clients can rent décor, furniture, and specialty items—giving them the joy of a fully styled event while significantly reducing environmental impact.

Every décor piece rented is one less item contributing to landfill waste. Reusing and sharing resources not only reduces consumption of raw materials and energy required for production, but also cuts down on carbon emissions associated with manufacturing and disposal. By choosing rentals, our clients are making a tangible contribution to a more sustainable, environmentally conscious future.

Beyond environmental impact, our business strengthens the local community. We collaborate with local vendors, florists, and artisans, supporting the local economy and fostering a network of professionals who are committed to sustainable and ethical practices. Our events bring people together in meaningful ways while encouraging mindful consumption and responsible celebration.
In short, every if we are small, we do our best to positively impact both our community and the planet.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Majestic Mountain Events is a full-service wedding and event planning business dedicated to creating memorable celebrations while keeping sustainability and community at the forefront. What sets us apart is our attention to detail, personalized approach, and our focus on providing high-quality rentals that allow couples to celebrate beautifully without unnecessary waste. We love helping clients bring their vision to life while offering guidance, decor, and support every step of the way.

I started my business out of both a need and a desire—to provide more value to my clients and make the wedding planning process as seamless as possible. I wanted to take the stress out of planning and design so couples could focus on enjoying their special day. My business was born from a love of people and a genuine passion for making their lives easier, turning what can often feel overwhelming into a joyful and memorable experience. Every decision I make, from planning to décor, is guided by the goal of simplifying the process while creating beautiful, personalized celebrations.

I’m most proud of the strong relationships we’ve built—with couples, vendors, and the local community—and the consistent five-star experiences our clients rave about. I’m excited about continuing to expand our services, offering creative solutions, and making celebrations more accessible and sustainable for everyone.

Getting here hasn’t been easy. Running a business involves constant problem-solving, juggling multiple priorities, and learning to adapt when things don’t go as planned. I overcame these challenges by staying organized, seeking mentorship from industry leaders, and keeping a clear vision of the type of business I wanted to create.
The biggest lessons I’ve learned along the way are the value of persistence, the power of collaboration, and the importance of listening—to clients, to my team, and to my intuition.

I want the world to know that Majestic Mountain Events isn’t just about planning events—it’s about creating meaningful experiences that celebrate love, connection, and sustainability. We’re passionate about helping people celebrate in ways that are beautiful, memorable, and kind to the planet, and that’s the story we’re proud to share.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would say the biggest mentors in my journey have been those who have consistently succeeded and shared their knowledge, showing what’s possible through hard work and dedication. I mostly follow and read books from motivational speakers since I’ve learned so much from observing and following their examples, whether through coaching, books, or online resources.
