We had the good fortune of connecting with Dominique James and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dominique, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I’ve always been a bit of a risk taker. I think risks are a very important part of being an Entrepreneur, however I believe in taking calculated risks. The more I know about the subject matter, the greater chance I have to minimize my risks.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Real Property Investing is the leading real estate investment firm in Fairfield County, CT. We specialize in buying, selling, rehabbing, negotiating, and investing in Real Estate. Our success is measured everyday by the satisfaction of our clients, networking and marketing at the highest level, and of course the number of deals we close.

Being an entrepreneur is no walk in the park. The first steps are always the toughest. The best way to overcome each challenge is to surround yourself with great mentors, and to build a great team.

I’ve invested a lot of money in books and seminars, but the greatest lessons were taught through experience.

The most important thing is to determine your goal, and be 100% dedicated to doing whatever it takes to accomplish it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My girlfriends and I love theatre, so we’ll likely catch a show in NYC., followed up with some fine dining on the roof top of our favorite restaurant.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to first thank my Father, David for teaching me about financial literacy at an early age. When I was a child he recommended a book that later became the roadmap to my success. I can also thank my son, Zachary for being ‘my reason’. Lastly, I would like to thank my mentor, Deirdre. Without her guidance, I would not have had the knowledge, experience or confidence to make it this far.
