We had the good fortune of connecting with Amber Hansen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amber, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Mommy Wine Culture is a heavily influential space that makes women and mothers believe that they NEED alcohol to survive their 9-5 job, motherhood, friendships, children, and/or marriage. I help women in my community to leave alcohol behind and learn how to enjoy life without it. Healing Arrow Recovery is a safe space for women to discuss goals on how to move forward with their lives without alcohol. It is also a space for women to come to maintain their sobriety.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started drinking alcohol when I was 12 years old. At some point in college I knew I needed to quit drinking because I continuously blacked out, drove drunk, made questionable decisions, got in physical fights with friends and strangers. And yet, it took me 7 more years to quit drinking. Once I got the help I needed, I knew returning what I had received was my intended career path. I am a mother of 2 and I know what it is like waking up with a hangover and the baby needed to be fed, or the toddler wants to play. I’ve learned that waking up hangover-free sets my day and my children’s day up for success. Through my time taking courses to learn about addiction, how the brain reacts to alcohol and other drugs, how to help others successfully remove alcohol, I’ve learned that addiction does not discriminate and it can happen to anyone. I’ve also learned through my own addiction, that you don’t have to hit rock bottom to seek help and there are many ways to recover. I want the world to know that you can successfully live a full, happy, fun life without alcohol if you want to, and I am more than happy to help you get there!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have had many influential people in my life but there are a couple that stick out in my mind. Heather Lowe from Ditched the Drink has been my mentor from the beginning. She has been on this journey with me since I started and I would not be a Life or Alcohol Recovery Coach without her. Heather has encouraged and challenged me since the beginning. “This Naked Mind” by Annie Grace was a God send when I was ready to make a change in my drinking. I listened to that book on Audible 5 times before I bought the hard copy and met her. She influenced the way I got sober as well as the reason I chose to take the path as a coach.
