Meet Seth Yokel | Mandolin/Vocals in High Country Hustle

We had the good fortune of connecting with Seth Yokel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Seth, what is the most important factor behind your success?
As a band, success comes from the dedication to the craft and the genuine belief in what we are creating. We pride ourselves in the work we put in to put forth the best quality product or performance when it comes to our music.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I play mandolin and sing vocals in the band High Country Hustle.
Getting to where we are today hasn’t always been easy. In all honesty, the music has and always will be the most fun, exciting and best part of what we do. Often times the strife comes from balancing expectations and relationships outside of the band to keep yourself grounded while also chasing this dream we have.
I believe in the music we are creating and the song writing that we have. I think this new album is going to really blow some folks away and show people what we are capable of. I think our sound has evolved and matured with each year and we are only getting better, and that excites me.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, in Durango we live in a stunning area surrounded by immense amounts of outdoor fun.
In the summer I’d take them down a rafting trip on the Animas River and winter time go hit Purgatory ski resort just north of town.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We have been supported and encouraged by so many people in our first 4 years as a band; family, friends, events and coordinators, other bands we look up to. In the beginning and still today, our local Durango community has always showed up to shows and made us feel as though we could really do this thing. Eventually we began branching out towards other areas and especially in the Denver/front range area we have been shown so much love and support, we can’t thank folks enough.
