We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Diamond and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jordan, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
There’s something so beautiful about the ability to make people feel like the best version of themselves! Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been drawn to empowering other women through hair and skin. Being able to use my creativity to paint someone’s hair, and see her confidence skyrocket afterwards, is absolutely a dream come true. I got so lucky, because the team that I work with at CrazyBeautiful Hair are masters at making people look as amazing on the outside as they are on the inside!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me and my team apart from others is really, our passion for this industry and the clients. It’s an indescribable feeling seeing the person in your chair feel confident because of something you’ve done for them! The bonds I’m able to build with my clients are so special, it’s an incredible feeling knowing that they trust me not only with their hair (which, let’s be honest, is HUGE), but with their personal lives as well. They share their insecurities, their family stories, their life goals with me – and that’s something I won’t ever take for granted.
It was such a hard journey to get here, especially with Covid hitting at the peak of my beauty education. Most of my classes turned to online, which is so tricky to navigate when you’re trying to learn something that’s so hands on, like hair. I’m so thankful for my friends and family members that let me use them for practice, because most of my learning was done on my own!
Being a working mom, I’ve really had to focus on my time management – which, honestly, is not something I’ve ever been great at! It’s been tricky, but the results have been so incredibly worth it. I do my best to balance quality time with my kiddo and working to make my clients happy, and with a lot of help from my little village, our lives are continuing to get so much better!
My biggest goal is to make my clients feel as beautiful outside as they are inside, and I think so far I’ve succeeded! I will forever work hard to spread that feeling, and I hope that the people who are touched by that will do the same for those around them.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If you’re coming to Colorado Springs, then old Colorado city is a must! The people, the shops, the whole vibe of that part of town is incredibly relaxing. In addition to that, the beauty of this city is more than enough to spark anyone’s creativity!
Garden of the Gods is an essential drive, that gorgeous park is probably the main attraction of this city!
I love the small bars here, especially Hatch Cover. It’s a comfort spot, always welcoming my friends and I!
When my friends come to visit, I just try to get us out and interacting with the city as much as possible. There are so many amazing people, Colorado Springs is the best mountain vacation spot!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There have been so many people pushing me throughout this journey! My parents have supported me from day 1, enduring my first haircuts and colors while I was in school, and never once complained. The owner of my shop, CrazyBeautiful Hair, is phenomenal! She took a chance on me, and took me under her wing – together we’re working hard to make the people of Colorado Springs feel their absolute best!
I’m really blessed to have this support system, they’ve been instrumental in getting me to where I am today!
