Meet Cierra Edstrom | Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cierra Edstrom and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cierra, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to start my business to build a life for myself that I was happy with. I’ve had jobs in the past where I was unhappy with my work because I wasn’t doing what brought me joy. I wanted to build a business where I could spend my days crafting and creating. I needed a way to express myself artistically and create items I felt good about using.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My ultimate goal with my products is to ensure that it’s unique. My jewelry and home decorations are all one of a kind. I like to ensure that my bath and body care items are of the highest quality. I use ingredients that you can feel good about using and aren’t toxic to your body. I have learned a lot through trial and error. At times when recipes don’t work out or designs don’t end up looking the way I imagined, I take a breath and start over completely. It’s not always easy but I’ve learned to accept that there will be mistakes and to learn from them.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would load up the camper and take them out to the woods for a week of camping. To me, nothing is more relaxing and exciting than being out in the middle of the mountains. We’ll bring a lot of good food to cook over the campfire. There’s so much to see and discover out in nature. Hiking, fishing, dirt biking and late night campfires are all included in the itinerary.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband, Reiker Edstrom. He has been by my side since the very beginning of Zephyr Lily. He was the person who encouraged me to open my shop and to not give up on it. He supported my decision of leaving my job and becoming a stay-at-home mom and dedicating my time to our family and my business. He’s the first person to hear all my ideas and the first person to test my products and is always there to offer up ideas for improvement and advancement.
