We had the good fortune of connecting with Austin & Sydney Angeleri and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Austin & Sydney, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
In our lives, risk has often been synonymous with faith, which we define as the thought that whatever happens is happening for the best purpose or reason. It is happening for us, rather than to us. With this perspective, risk is simply the catalyst for change. Without risk and change, there is no growth and development, and your experience and journey are limited. When you take that leap into the unknown, there is something that happens to your body. Physically, there are all kinds of chemicals being released, but your spiritual body is responding as well. This risk, change, or evolution of your path brings you to consult with your spirit which can bring you to a “higher version” of yourself. And we have found this to be a very rewarding experience in our lives. By taking the risk, we always grow. So even if the outcome is negative or less than desirable, we are still forced to grow by observing how we respond to the situation, and this brings us to a stronger understanding of ourselves. In this way, risk has become synonymous with growth. It really is true when they say, “you gotta risk it for the biscuit.” We’re just wondering where to get the gravy.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Moonstruck Melodies is a husband and wife duo offering campfire music, from and for the soul. Sometimes the world can feel a little chilly, and Moonstruck Melodies is way of offering a place around the campfire. We’re really trying to warm our own souls with music, and it’s a blessing that it helps warm others as well. We weave old storytelling and modern poetry into heart-shaped harmonies and intentional serenades. Wielding a ukulele, guitar, and a unique perspective on life’s mysteries, we cultivate a familial and intimate atmosphere during every gathering. We want to talk about the spiritual aspect of this existence. However, when it comes to our spiritual experience as humans, we have noticed a division amongst people where there should be unity. We seek to bridge this barrier in spiritual or mythological language with artistic expression. We want people to know that no matter our spiritual language, we can learn to translate in order to communicate with each other. The key is in the sharing, and we need an open and accepting place to do that. The artistic space serves as a great place for this.
Nothing worth experiencing comes easy, but one lesson we have learned is that perseverance goes a long way. Also, we have learned to be more flexible and to go around our obstacles instead of through them, like flowing water. We have heard that it is better to build slow and wide, so this is what we strive to do. We have learned to enjoy the journeying, so as to not get caught up in the “getting there.” The journey is the best part after all, even when it’s hard to remember.
We are very excited to have some new music coming out very soon on all streaming platforms! That kind of feels like an end to a journey, or another plateau.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a friend was visiting, we would eat at Slyce Pizza. We would drink at Prost Brewing. We would play pool at The Emporium Sports Bar. Definitely hang out at Black and Blues Music and Brews in Loveland. When you catch the right band playing, the feeling is magic. We’d probably walk some local trails. And we would not overlook a little fire in our backyard with just us friends, because sometimes that’s the most exciting place to be.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We owe all our gratitude to all of our friends and family who currently make up our fan base; the Spirit that is always divinely guiding us; the infinite inspiration from all of our mentors in all of their forms; Broken Revival for helping us record our demo; Local businesses that have been very supportive such as Black and Blues Music and Brews and The Emporium Sports Bar and Firewater Public House.
