Meet Megan Stringfellow | Whimsical Illustrator & Author

We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Stringfellow and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Megan, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I decided to start my own business because I wanted to use my gifts to bring people joy and also support my family and be available for my children. I quickly relax that I loved being in control of the vision and direction of my business. I love building a business that is unique and special to me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I create whimsical art and books that are inspired by history and vintage designs.
I believe our past is important and deserves to be remembered. My joy comes from sharing the coolest stories of our past. I fell in love with history as a little girl. I spent hours with my grandma listening to stories of my ancestors and of lands far away and long ago. I loved watching documentaries and learning about the most interesting stories of history.
I am always inspired by the interesting stories of history, vintage design, and great stories.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love spending time outside whenever I can. Garden if the Gods is one of my favorite places to walk and get inspired. When I want to meet a friend for coffee I love hanging out at Kairos Coffee House.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have learned so much from other creative women who are doing the hard work, like Stacie Bloomfield of Gingiber and Bonnie Christine of Flourish.
