We had the good fortune of connecting with Joe Sanchez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joe, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
When I was younger my only source of entertainment was going to block buster to rent movies with family. I watched the movies I picked on repeat, every time I watched my dream grew bigger. I knew from the start I wanted to pursue a creative career path. So I decided to make the best with what I had. A tape recorder. Then, years later I am pursuing that dream I still hold on to.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
So I started when I was younger for the love of film. I knew I wanted to become a film creative from the moment I held onto a Camcorder. Growing up I self taught myself by creating personal videos and photographs. I went to Aims Community College to learn more about film, audio, photography, and TV Production. Then from there I felt ready to pursue my dream but not quiet yet. I was still working a day job so I was honestly excited to pick up gigs here and there. When the Pandemic started, I felt it was necessary to fully pursue my dream. Not letting dreams be dreams, I deep dived into my profession when I was laid off from work. I had the most amazing opportunity working with big brands a few months later. After that I was terminated from my regular day job but It was the best day of my life. I felt a rush of excitement and energy to finally go all into my career. I guess the difficult part was surviving a pandemic, figuring where I stand and the many things that affected me emotionally and physically. Lessons I learned from both years was keeping my head up, focus on what I want to achieve and made sure I was safe before anything else. I feel this is only just a small footprint of what my story is.

My “Brand” is helping the community. It’s our life story, our memories, and our way of showing who we are and what we are capable of. Its me living that experience with the community and I love it!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite spots our Downtown Greeley. I love the Lunas Tacos for their food and Drinks, Stella’s for their arcade, The bars for the great times and John Galts Coffee. Everyone feels creative there. Most of the time I catch myself in Fort Collins Downtown every once and a while too.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shoutout to Armando Silva @artmando for the incredible memories and support. Honestly one of the most influential person and mentor in my life.

My second shoutout will be my Siblings. For supporting and helping me through difficult times and helping each other through life.

My last shoutout will be my best friends, for creating fun memories and showing some love to my work by also being very supportive!
