We had the good fortune of connecting with Juli Kramer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Juli, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
In 2016, I was fortunate to spend two years as Director of Curriculum at Soong Ching Ling School, one of the most prestigious schools in Shanghai. Living there convinced me that people in the West were needlessly suffering and dying.
Everyday in Shanghai, I was in awe of how much people understood about their own bodies and keeping healthy. They knew what to eat and drink for myriad conditions, what to wear during different seasons, when to eat certain foods, how to exercise, and more.
People actively pursued health.
Instead of talking about which pharmaceutical products they would be on for the rest of their lives or lamenting numerous chronic health problems, they went to the park to dance, practice tai ji and qigong, and be among friends.
Walking just three blocks in any direction from my apartment, small shops were selling an abundance of fruit and more vegetables than I ever knew existed. My imagination exploded with possibilities. I soon realized right to the core of my being that people don’t needlessly have to suffer.
They can live happy, healthy, and long lives. I knew that when I moved back to Colorado I needed to start a business that helped people activate their innate power to heal.
I knew that it would have to be online at first, and with the onset of world changes, I’m happy I was in the digital arena.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Since 2019, I have shared the healing power of Chinese medicine through Radiant Shenti Membership classes, Chineses medicine courses, articles, videos, and health and wellness products.
Understanding Chinese medicine is easy. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) provides a road map with directions on how to live a happy, healthy, and long life. It is practiced in small villages and mega-cities all over China.
Western medicine uses one map and Chinese medicine another.
Briefly, the Chinese medicine road map provides a holistic view of the body. Everything you do affects all aspects of your mental and physical well being.
All the services, courses, articles, videos, meditations, and products provided by Radiant Shenti are selected to help enhance people’s understanding of Chinese medicine to activate innate healing.
Everyday at Radiant Shenti, we share our knowledge to help people and their loved ones achieve optimum health. To make sure they can live the longest, most healthy, happiest life possible.
That’s what I wake up every day excited about.
People’s health, happiness, and longevity matter to us, and we’re here to help you shine.
I’m most proud of growing our membership of people all over the United States and the world. Some of the countries beyond the U.S. include Norway, Hungary, the UK, New Zealand, and Australia.
On Pinterest, we serve over 100,000 people through our pins. Our YouTube videos reach additional thousands.
Our free online Insight Timer classes have between 65 and 100 students each class. Our chair qi gong classes on Insight Timer are especially meaningful because they support people who need specific methods to move their bodies and energy, including people who are bedridden.
The meditations we create for Insight Timer help hundreds of others.
Having any significant presence online is incredibly difficult. There is so much chatter out there. Here, I have to acknowledge the unwavering support and creativity of our Radiant Shenti members. They continually send me ideas for how to expand the people we serve. This creates awareness of our Membership Program, courses, nutritional consulting, and face reading services.
I learned to accept that I’m learning. Despite my best efforts, building an online business takes time. I have a colleague who is also starting an online business. We meet each week to refine our ideas and actions, and to not give up.
More than anything, I want people to know that they don’t have to suffer. Radiant Shenti membership and services are affordable, holistic, and time-tested ways to stop their pain.
We are responsive and always growing and learning. Our instructors have years of experience, and our advisory team consists of incredibly skilled practitioners of Chinese medicine. Our mission is to serve and help others.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As a Denver native, I have to give a nod to our history. In the city, we would definitely go to the Museum of Nature and Science and the Zoo. These locations have iconic historic statues, as well as majestic views of downtown and the mountains.
A tour of the capital teaches more about Colorado than almost any other location. It would be a must.
While downtown, visiting the different buildings of the Denver Art Museum would wow my friend with the stunning architecture and varied collections. I helped create and used to write lesson plans for the DAM’s Teacher’s Creativity Resource, so I’d have lots of inside tips to share.
We’d top off this day of history at the Molly Brown House. Lunch would be a homemade picnic in Civic Center Park, and then a visit to Twist and Shout Records and Tattered Cover by East High School.
On day two, we would check out some of the cities beautiful parks, such as Cheesman Park. You get a feel for the love of fitness and the outdoors right in the city.
After Cheesman Park, we’d head to the Denver Botanic Gardens, taking in the healing energy of the plants, rocks, and water features of the gardens.
We’d then head down York Street/University Boulevard for a bit of ice cream at Bonnie Brae. A Denver staple for many years, the full fat richness of the ice cream and the classic and innovative flavors would be a treat.
A walk around Washington Park would help us digest. Another great historical location, we would explore this beautiful setting and remember the people across the centuries who enjoyed the park.
I’d have to go outside of Denver on additional days, not because there isn’t more to do in Denver, but there are special places I’d have to take a guest.
One day would be dedicated to Boulder. We’d start with a hike at Chautauqua Park. After working up an appetite we’d grab a bite somewhere along Pearl Street Mall. People watching, enjoying the buskers, and a little shopping would follow. My favorite shops are Peppercorn, Rocket Fizz, Into the Wind, and Paradise Found Records and Music.
Another day would be a trip to Colorado Springs. We’d hike and explore Garden of the Gods and picnic among the natures rock creations. Mother nature’s creativity would be further on display on our visit to Cave of the Winds. Just in case we hadn’t walked enough, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo would let us continue to stretch our legs. Of course, feeding the giraffes will be a highlight.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Inspired by my search on how to heal my body, I found a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner, Dr. Zhizhong Nan, who cured my symptoms in just five days of acupuncture treatment. He taught me a great deal about Chinese medicine and supported me as I began my student journey. Dr. Nan worked closely with another gifted healer named Dr. Dayong Hou, and both practitioners now serve on Radiant Shenti’s Advisory Team.
While in Shanghai, I had the great fortune to meet Dr. Zhang Yifang, author of five books on Chinese medicine. She later became my physician and trusted mentor, and even today, I continue to study under her tutelage. From her vast knowledge, I learned even more about the holistic approach of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the use of diet to heal the body.
Also, my husband has supported me on every step on my journey, from going to Shanghai to retiring from education to help people heal.
My daughter inspires me everyday through her kindness and dedication to others. She is my biggest fan and I couldn’t get over some of the rough times without her.
Last, but not least, without my Radiant Shenti members and instructors, nothing would be possible. Their devotion and support through this building phase of the business keeps me inspired and the business running.
