How has your background affected your future?

Where you grew up and your background can often have surprising effects on our lives and careers. We’ve asked folks from the community to tell us about how their background has affected them.

I’m originally from a small town in Upstate NY. In my experience, growing up in a small town created a balance of humbleness with this feeling of always wanting to do really big things with your life. I watched my dad start a business from nothing and grow it over 35 years to create a sustainable living for his family. I was borne in Ukraine, my family legally immigrated to the US when I was 11. Growing up I faced a lot of adversity. Overcoming that adversity gave me strength and resilience I believe you need to be a successful business owner. My moto is failure is not an option. I am from Colorado, a true native! I grew up with an incredibly supportive family and we spent our summers camping, fishing, and exploring the outdoors. I think this kind of upbringing led me to have a very laid back sort of way of living, that no job or assignment is worth getting worked up over, and we are only here for a short time so we should enjoy it! Im originally from Pueblo,Co, I grew up in a neighborhood called “The Grove” wich was made up of italian and bojon people. My family lived mostly on the block of Stanton ave and had family farm’s on 26th lane and and other lanes considered the county or blend. My Grandfather was Angelo Mosco a Sicilian/italian man who was a farmer and grew Chile with his brothers amongst other things. Read more>>
