Lessons and wisdom from the community

We’ve been fortunate to connect with so many brilliant, thoughtful entrepreneurs and creatives and we regularly ask them about the most important lessons they’ve learned over the course of their careers. We’ve shared some highlights below.

Being active and athletic has been apart of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in Colorado in a family consumed by Motocross racing that started when I was 6 years old. We would pack up every weekend and head for the races or a camp trip with some of our best friends. Read more>>

I’m from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and I would say my upbringing had a major impact on my drive and work ethic. We always helped around the house doing various chores which included working in our large family garden, and participating in sports which reinforced so many skills like teamwork, leadership, setting goals and working towards them. I’m a first generation immigrant from South Korea. Coming from a loving family who is very well known amongst every school I had been to because of how involved my mother was in the community, my family took on a challenge. I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. My parents moved us there from a small farm town in Illinois when I was young. I was quickly exposed to a fast moving darkness that deeply impacted my sensitive heart. My dad worked in the prison system and was convinced that evil existed and that some people were inherently bad.
