We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaron Lavanchy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aaron, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I worked a factory jobs for years. While the income is reliable, I felt my mind numbing and needed more of a creative thought process. It was starting to affect my mental well-being, so after such a serious thought, I felt it was time to leap into a more artistic career, something I was passionate about. It was exactly what I needed.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a commercial photographer. It is definitely not an easy road or a road that ever ends. But I love the constant growth of opportunities and the creativity that they provide. I get to work with some really interesting people, so I love hearing and telling the story, whether it’s an individual or a brand.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m in Ft. Collins, so I’d ride bikes along the Poudre River to downtown. Stop and have a beer at Hello Brewery on the way to grabbing dinner at The Regional. Or if I wanted to extend the bike ride, I’d jump back on the bike path and have dinner at Taqueria Los Comales. The next day, I’d drive them up Poudre Canyon to Cameron Pass, with a short hike up North & South Diamond Peaks. The summits give you an incredible view of the Never Summer Mountains and the Noku Crags.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate it my amazing and supportive wife. She is constantly pushing me to reach for the next level and I’m the type of person that needs that push from time to time.
