Meet Alex (Rusty Steve) Restivo: Artist, Musician, Producer, Graphic and Fashion Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex (Rusty Steve) Restivo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alex (Rusty Steve), what’s the end goal, career-wise?
My goal is to be prolific, making music and art that I’m proud of. I want to be able to make a living solely off of my artistic endeavors. I want to have works that are appreciated and loved. I want to inspire people the way so many artists have inspired me.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I think what sets me apart from others is my unique mixture of influences and how I express them, as well as all the different facets of art I’m able to do well. I’m proud of my artistic talent, and my natural eye for art, and my creative mind. I would say I’m at the most recognized or professional position yet, but I know some day I will be, just have to keep working, putting art out. I think the biggest challenge for me right now is not being lazy and getting all the ideas I have out. Making a name for myself won’t be easy but I know I can do it. I don’t think theres a specific thing I want the world to know about me, I just want to get my art out there and inspire people. I want to have that back and forth relationship with the world great artist get to have where they are inspired and get to inspire.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Things are pretty dead now because of Covid, but I’ll assume in this scenario Covid isnt a thing? I def take them to some art museums, MCA, DAM, etc. probably the botanic gardens as well. We could go down south broadway and thrift, skipping all the overpriced vintage stores, honestly hate how overpriced some of these stores are its crazy. We could get some bobba, or coffee, Mutiny Info cafe is great, played there a couple times, if there was a show going on would definitely catch that. I dig snarfs, love sandwiches lol. I’d definitely take them to 7th circle, Love DIY music venues like that. Rhino is pretty cool too, I did hear some bad stuff about the management though so I haven’t been in a while. Another day we could go hiking, the mountains are so beautiful out here, and not a long drive at all. 40 minutes and you can hike, and look over the city. Could catch a movie at the mayan, or a midnight movie at the esquire. Hopefully that place doesn’t shut down, been hearing some stuff about that. If were feeling fancy we could go to sushi den, the fancy new upstairs part, apparently it won most beautiful restaurant in Denver. That’s all I can think of off the top of my head right now. Sorry if I rambled a bit.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Definitely want to thank my parents for always being very supportive of my music and art, not all parents are like that. I also want to thank all the artists that inspire me. The list is very long not sure if I should list them all here.
