Meet Ali Duncan | Business owner, teacher, speaker, quantum jumper

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ali Duncan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ali, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is that everyone who is involved is successful. The students who didn’t have access to yoga and a healing community are successful and my staff who get to share what they want and what that looks like are successful. My brand is supporting my community to show how they are and to take up space.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I own Urban Sanctuary wellness center. It is a magical space where we envision co-creating spaces that are all-embracing, with a central focus on facilitating access to community, education, and the elevation of collective well-being. We own the only black-owned yoga studio in Colorado and our staff is all women of color. We focus on not just movement but ways to connect the community through talks such as racial justice. We offer Inner Hue for our community of color to move through the trauma that racism creates in the body. How I got to where I am today is I trusted the flow of my vision and how the universe supported the alignment. It was easy as long as I trusted. Once I get off that path and start to worry then it becomes challenging. I would get on my path and let go. I would focus on my thoughts and actions making sure they aligned with what I wanted to experience in my business. I would love to share that whatever you want is already being created and it is up to raise your vibration to match it so you can experience it. Work is a part of the alignment and the more light and happy you are more alignments arrive into your life to support your journey.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to Monatue Springs in the mountains for a day then drive back to Denver. I would take them to several different restaurants and cook at home. I would choose a workshop and yoga classes at Urban Sanctuary to thread our day and end each day looking at the stars at the Sanctuary House in Aurora. I am a homebody so most of the time would be catching up, reading, and laying in the sun.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I love to stay tapped into podcasts, friends, and activities that keep me on my path. The core people in my life are my husband, Marc Neal, my children, Audri Moon, Aron Garcia, and Christian Garcia, my staff, Nora Thomas and Shante, and my close friend and teaching partner, Dameda Jolynn
