We had the good fortune of connecting with Anastasia Francis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anastasia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When we relocated to Colorado in 2017, I brought with me extensive experience from working with renowned floral and plant establishments in Boston. This inspired me to launch my own venture, Plants Y’all, with the goal of sharing my passion for greenery while also enjoying the flexibility of setting my own schedule. This flexibility allows me to fully embrace the outdoor lifestyle that Colorado offers, all while leveraging my expertise to bring beautiful plant designs to life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Getting to where I am today professionally wasn’t easy, but it was definitely worth it. It took a lot of hard work, determination and creativity. In the beginning, I did pop-ups with flower bouquet classes, succulent terrariums, and offered free classes like houseplant care 101 just to get the word out about Plants Y’all.

What really sets me apart is that I’m a proud woman-owned business, and I genuinely connect with my clients— I value building genuine relationships with my clients and guiding them through their plant journey. This process often involves spending meaningful time together, allowing us to develop a strong rapport and a shared passion for plants.

I also believe in thinking outside the box, especially when it comes to plants. Whether it’s designing a 20ft living wall and maintaining it in a home or offering unique planters with the perfect plant that match each space’s esthetic, it’s something I strive to do for any client that reaches out to me wanting to add greenery to their space.
Plants Y’all also works with faux plants, as they are needed in certain settings like restaurants or second homes. You can find our faux plant work at local and Denver area restaurants Birdcall, Lady Nomada, Perdida and Homegrown Tap & Dough to name a few.

At Plants Y’all, I also provide maintenance services to ensure that the plants thrive because let’s face it, plants can be hard and time consuming. And I want both my client and the plants to be happy! Overall, I’m proud of the personal touch and dedication that defines my brand.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d start the morning off doing a sunrise hike on Sanitas. Nothing beats that view and the good feeling of getting to the top.

Then we would head to my friend Jess’s cafe– Creature Comforts on Pearl St to get an Ube Matcha latte- yum! And check in on all the plants I did there 🙂

Walk around Pearl St and hit some of my fav spots including Beat Book Shop, Jones & Co, Cedar & Hyde Home and of course Peppercorn!

Lunch at Avanti to get those views again and a variety of food options.

Drive up Flagstaff Rd to see the Lost Gulch Overlook.

Hang at Boulder Creek at Eben G Fine park to watch the brave folks float down in tubes.

Dinner at Avery Brewery for burger night on Thursday.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to give a shoutout to Orly Khon, who I had the privilege of working with at Orly Khon Floral in Boston. She really taught me what it means to be a great leader. Orly always has a way of making even the most challenging or unconventional projects come to life. Her creativity and determination really inspired me to adopt the same mindset and to never say no to something because it seems difficult.
