We had the good fortune of connecting with Andre Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andre, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
Knowing whether to keep going or give up as an inspired actor often comes down to your inner drive versus outside discouragement. If the passion still lights you up, if you feel alive on set, in class, or even rehearsing alone, that’s a sign to keep pushing—because growth in acting takes time, persistence, and patience. But if the dream starts to feel like a burden with no spark left, and you only continue out of pressure or fear, it may be time to step back and reassess. The key is being honest with yourself: if the fire is still burning, even quietly, it’s worth fueling.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
How I got to where I’m at today was the determination to be someone I can also be proud of. I wasn’t proud of myself for along time because I felt my life was just boring and that was going to be it. I have faith an when I’m down I pray a lot and it seems like I get a steady answer from above. I think of my love ones who are no longer here with us and unable due to death or incarceration who can’t live the life they imagine. I feel they would be mad at me if I didn’t push myself to be better. Lessons I learned along the way was to put me first outside of my children and wife when it comes to my happiness. I want the world to know that the journey for me was never easy but I choose not to give up. Discipline myself and learning I have more to offer to this world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my bestfriend was visiting first thing we would do is go to my favorite breakfast spot. Followed by shopping and go lunch/dinner for a few drinks. Maybe a sports event if available. I love to swim so maybe swimming and go to a few lounges around Denver.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a special thank you to my family and friends who continue to stand by me on this acting journey. Your love, patience, and honesty—especially in those tough conversations when I feel like walking away—mean more than I can ever put into words. You remind me of my purpose, and I carry your belief in me every time I step into a role. Also I want to give a SHOUTOUT to my home city Denver. I love where I’m from and I’m proud to tell show the world how great we are. I’m born and raised in Northeast Denver grew up in the Park Hill neighborhood and I couldn’t be more proud.
