We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Dratch and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andrea, why did you pursue a creative career?
I chose a creative career for the ability to challenge myself and to create my own path. I love to surround myself with art. In this career there is always room for growth and ideas. You get to meet new creative people and go to new places.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am an award-winning actor and producer most known for my starring role as Lita in the award-winning feature film “Small Town Remedies” written and directed by R.W. Perkins that was released in 2020 which I co-produced. “Small Town Remedies” had an incredible festival run and will now be screening in theaters in Colorado starting Aug. 20th with a huge premier at The Lyric Cinema in Fort Collins. I am part owner along with award-winning director/writer R.W. Perkins and award-winning cinematographer/photographer Andy Carrasco of Film Locale, a production house based in Northern Colorado. We are currently working on multiple projects including a new series written by R.W. Perkins, “My Indie Romance” where I will be playing the lead, Alma. We will start crowdfunding for this series this fall!

You have seen me on T.V. as the spokesperson for the prominent Colorado company, Woodley’s Fine Furniture, a family owned and operated business that started in 1979. I’m very proud to be the face of my family’s business!

My most recent work that will be coming out later this year and into 2022 include voice-over work for Tattered Tales, a audio anthology series where I can be heard as the voice of the Narrator, Eudora in “Saturn Rising” a 5 part episode written by Sarah Reichert and directed by Lillie Fischer. I also starred as Jennie in “Core” a screenplay by award-winning writer, Roma Sur in the series “Womanhood the Series” directed by the award-winning director Jessica McGaugh. I also just wrapped “Be Still” a short by award-winning director Ben Hess.

I am an alum of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (AADA) New York City. I credit my time at the Academy and in NYC for assuring me that acting and filmmaking is my true passion and for making me see that anything is possible. I love the process of becoming a character. I love bringing each character to life. I love being a part of stories that bring hope and courage to people. The film industry is rising in Colorado and I’m proud to be so fully submerged in it!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Dang this is tough, so many amazing places to enjoy in Colorado! I’ll throw a few out there starting in NoCo. If you’re in Fort Collins go check out The Lyric Cinema for all your movie, food and music needs and don’t miss my favorite veggie burger joint Big Al’s. Then swing down through Loveland, the sweetheart city, and check out The Sweetheart City General, its full of local and love! Keep heading south, grab a Happy Leaf Kombucha at the Rayback Collective in Boulder. Then for your last stop grab a falafel wrap and beet brownie from Vital Root in Denver. Walk through the RiNo district, it will blow your mind and then head to the mountains to ground yourself.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
When you pursue a creative path as a career the more support the better. I am lucky to be surrounded with support from family, friends or colleagues. My big sister Jacquelynn Perkins an incredible artist, always believes in me and pushed me to be my best self and follow my weird creative endeavors. My husband Steve supports me in all I do and has always encouraged me to follow my dreams. My little sister Averri Young is my biggest fan and stylist! My three little boys also cheer me on and think it’s pretty amazing that I’m on T.V.

My parents Pat and Cherri Woodley who saw my talent and supported my dreams enough to send me off to NYC to study acting! My brother Justin for always being awesome.
