We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrew Diaz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrew, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor is providing a quality product and experience that customers will want to come back for. I want to make sure that your best experience with us will be duplicated again in the future.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am most proud that I’ve been able to run a successful business and not sacrifice my family life. I have a wonderful wife/business partner that has supported me throughout this process and without her none of this would be possible. I’ve learned along the way that time is more valuable to me than money. I could operate during more days and hours but at what expense? We have wonderful 4 year old and 2 year old children and I want to make sure to be there for all of life’s special moments with them.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If they’re coming to Pueblo, then no doubt we are checking out some green Chile spots! If they happen to visit in September we are definitely going to the Chile festival in Pueblo. After we’ve had our fill of Pueblo’s best pepper we’d take some time at the Pueblo reservoir and do some fishing or water skiing.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
May sound a little cliché, but definitely my mom. When I was 12 years old we stopped by a shaved ice truck to get a sweet treat and I mentioned to her that it would be fun to work there! Next thing I know she asks the owner if he needs any Summer help, and the rest is history. I worked for him for 8 summers and eventually started my own truck out here in Colorado. If it wasn’t for my mom encouraging me to go for it, I wouldn’t be where I am now.
