Meet Angela Elizabeth | Hair and Makeup Artist, and Owner of Angela Elizabeth Cosmetology

We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Elizabeth and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Angela, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Communication is truly everything! Having clear and quick communication with your clients, as well as thorough consultations so that everyone feels confident and comfortable going into a service is so important.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been obsessed with weddings since I was a little girl, and as long as I can remember I wanted to be a bridal hair and makeup artist. I am truly living my 5 year old self’s dream!
My bridal and editorial business is focused on one thing, increasing my client’s confidence. So often people feel pressured to look a certain way on their wedding day and all I care about is helping them feel comfortable and beautiful. This looks different for every single bride, which is why I always do an in depth consultation and trial.
I also strive to create a fun, relaxed and accepting atmosphere. No matter your race, religion or sexual orientation you should feel safe and comfortable in my chair. I have taken extensive courses and measures to ensure I can work with all skin types and tones as well as all hair types and textures. I always hope for my brides to laugh during their appointment and to remember it as a fun part of their big day!
I have learned so many lessons in this business. One being how important communication is for all parties. A good consultation allows for both the artist and the bride to feel relaxed and confident that we are on the same page so we can enjoy the appointment stress free!
I truly love this business. I have served brides all over the world for 12 years and I am so excited to be rebuilding my brand here in Colorado.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So first we are absolutely going to Manitou Springs. Especially if it’s fall. The drive up there is amazing and the shops are amazing. Especially the Pikes Peak Rock Shop. And breakfast will be at The Pantry in Green Mountain Falls.
Then a day in Springs where we explore Garden of the Gods and have a spa day a the Broadmore! Maybe a little shopping in Old Colorado Springs. And eat more food! I love international cuisine and Schnitzel Fritz as well as Roman Italian Village Pizza are both amazing! I also love visiting the Allusion restaurants!
Up in Denver we have to do a first Friday Art Walk and enjoy the shops on Broadway. I also love seeing what conventions are in town, and checking small local venues like The Marquis to see what local bands are playing. And of course a Red Rocks show is a must if someone good is playing.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely owe a lot to my parents. My father is a sculpture. I grew up in art galleries and surrounded by fine art. My parents always told me “do what you love, be a good person and the money will come.” I am grateful they supported my desire to pursue a creative field as opposed to a traditional degree.
