We had the good fortune of connecting with Angelika Koch and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Angelika, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Most people regret the risks they haven’t taken. I find calculated risks are important to take, as it allows you to move forward in your career in a way you otherwise would not have. The risks I have taken have been a nerve racking experience but one I am thankful I took. I took a risk moving full time into starting a business. I took a risk becoming an influencer and putting myself out there in a variety of videos. I took a risk when I decided to start my own Coaching practice. I thank my past self for taking those risks because it helped to lead me to my dream life.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the business owner of a Relationship and Breakup Coaching Practice. I am proud of how quickly I was able to move from part-time to full time as my practice rapidly grew. Growing my practice was not an easy task, as I would often times work 80+ hours a week on researching business, marketing, and ways to grow my business to meet the goals I had in mind for my future.
The way I overcame challenges was because I looked at the challenges I faced as opportunities to learn. This helped me to not feel overwhelmed when things went south and instead to take a step back and find different solutions.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was coming to town, I would start by taking them to Thump coffee before heading over to Cheeseman Park. We would then take a trip to the Natural History Museum and then over to the Botanical Gardens. At the end of the day we would get Ramen at one of the many great Ramen spots around town.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shout out to Denise. She has been there for me during this growing process for the last eight months. I am so very grateful for her friendship and support.
