We had the good fortune of connecting with Aric Bianchi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aric, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
We were fortunate to live in a beautiful city called Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for about 2.5 years from 2017-2020. During the time, we learned that people enjoy house parties, and we thought we can have cool experiences to become a personal chef because we both have extended career in the restaurant/service industries. From the successful experiences we got in Mexico, we realized that we can continue this path when we came back to Denver, Colorado in 2020.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Our personal chef services is truly personal. We customize menu for each occasion, to the customers likes, dislikes, and food preference. We love serving dinner party for two people, graduation parties, bachelor/bachelorette parties, small family gatherings, micro wedding, and any other special occasions. We also offer Meal Prep Services at their own home, and in-home/online cooking class as well.
Working at restaurants and service industries are hard. Long hours of standing and sweat, but our passion to serve delicious, memorable dishes grew stronger even after working years of restaurants/service industries, and also as a private chef. We knew we wanted to go different direction, still serving great food but to be able to have more personal interaction and relationship that turns into friendship. It hasn’t been an easy ride especially due to Covid, but we’ve learned to never give up because the light at the end of tunnel is usually not a train. ha ha ha.
Our company name is “U n’ I Personal Chef Services”. “U n’ I” have deeper meanings; We use “U” as “You” and “I” in English, so it’s “YOU” and “I”. But “YOU” means “Friend” and “I” means “Love” in Japanese as well, along with Chinese Character “友” that is symbolized as “Friend” and “愛” which is symbolized as “Love”. We believe that cooking with love for friends is the most delicious style of food.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Red Rocks, Mount Evans, the Garden of the Gods, Rocky Mountain National Park to visit, Sancho’s Broken Arrow, So Many Roads Museum and Brewery for awesome Grateful Dead art, music, and beer. Sunday brunch at Brown Palace, Lao Wang Noodle House for dumplings, El Taco de Mexico for Chili relleno burrito, Mexico City Club for ground beef deep fried tacos, and of course, dinner at their own place with U n’ I Personal Chef Services! Ha ha!
