We had the good fortune of connecting with Austin Jacobs and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Austin, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to start my business, CrazyWeird Productions, because of my passion of doing what I love and inspiring other outdoor enthusiasts to do the same.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I put the weird in crazy, let’s get crazy weird. I believe what sets me apart from others is me just being my genuine self. We all have our own quirkiness, but being able to express it to the world is something unique. I broke down the walls holding me back so I could let my passions shine through. Was it easy, NO, but it was my love for these action sports that has gotten me through it. I can literally unplug and come back to my core, and have found a new passion to help others do the same. One lesson I have learned along the way is to not take life too seriously. Be happy, have joy, be whole within, find the peace… Bring the stoke. Just do your thing and let it all radiate. It’s never too late to follow your dreams. Just do it. You’ll be glad that you did.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Depending on the season but let’s start with summer. We would definitely go mountain bike the local trails at and around Vail Mountain, Beaver Creek and Minturn. Hit up the Minturn Bike Park, check out some of the live music throughout the Valley, then really get into the Minturn mindset at The Agora with a laid back atmosphere. Now switch to winter. Think skiing, skiing and more skiing. With so many ski resorts in the area, the opportunities are endless and the backcountry is vast. No matter what the season, we’d kick it at our pad in the evenings with some homemade pizza. If we want to go out on the town, eat at Kirby Cosmos’ BBQ Bar, Rocky Mountain Taco, Backcountry Wings, seriously almost anywhere in Minturn. Three words. Après all day. And did I mention skiing and mountain biking?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to thank my wife, Sara Jacobs, for believing in all my craziness and loving me for me. Thad Nebeker for all of your support, friendship, brother from another mother, video guy, inspiration, and absolute joy to be around. My kids Mckynlee, Brydan, Warren, & Aspen for loving me for me, I love you. My Mom, Dad, brother, sister, grandparents, and whole family for surrounding me with all the outdoor activities and encouraging us to live life adventurously. The Action Sports Club for bringing so much value, education, mentorship, book recommendation “The Magic” by Rhonda Byrne, community love and all of the support from all of the members. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Much love!
