We had the good fortune of connecting with Azilee & Loren O’Neil and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Azilee & Loren, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
We’re in an industry that has often shown surprising resistance to the nuance of how we’ve learned to integrate soft tissue therapy and movement education to work with the whole body. Over the years we’ve been at different cross roads as to whether we continue creating our own path in the way we value helping our clients or practice within the perimeters set by others. Our motivation to keep going has come from a deep desire to help our clients create true transformation in their bodies and wellbeing by integrating the whole being, mind and body.

A knowing when to give up or rather reroute has come from feeling the resistance life shows us as a sign to pivot. It’s the same idea when we’re working with our clients and their programs. Sometimes a certain treatment plan isn’t working for the client and so we then look at where we can pivot, progress or regress a program so that there is still forward momentum in creating the desired outcome.

What should our readers know about your business?
We are a gym and soft tissue therapy clinic dedicated to fostering a thriving community where body education, movement, and holistic well-being come together to transform lives. It has not always been an easy path living a entrepreneurial life and being life as well as business partners but the wins have been just as profound as the struggles. Relocating an entire brick and mortar business to a new state has been the biggest and most recent challenge as we’ve had to rebuild our community and network. But enjoying all this beautiful state has to offer and meeting the people that it attracts has been so incredible. Working through this challenge has given us the opportunity to connect with likeminded individuals within the love for nature, moving our bodies and cultivating self connection. Something for the world to know about us and our story is that integrity is important to us and we do our best to practice what we teach inside and outside our business.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Red Rocks in the summertime is a given, for a show or a hike. We love to take visitors to enjoy some outdoor time without overwhelming them especially if they are not from altitude so a nice easy hike(with options to add a challenge to see the Flatirons) around Chautauqua Park in Boulder or a walk around Washington Park is a must if needing to go even more mellow. Our recent favorite restaurant that does not disappoint is Cuba Cuba. But we also do enjoy the summer patio vibes at Hops and Pies or a healthy meal at Vital Root. Any season around here can call for a trip to the mountains in our book.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We wouldn’t be here without the guidance, support and education from the shoulders we stand on, our mentors and teachers over the years. We are two people who make up this business and some of the most profound mentorships we’ve gone through together are the Gray Institute, our mentors, Aimee and Steve from the New School of Structural Integration and Dr. Mike T. Nelson.
