We had the good fortune of connecting with B.B. Palmer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi B.B., is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
that depends on what you define as success.. but for me it was just being myself n not letting conventional wisdom or formulas lead me. I haven’t done many things right, but one thing I have done right, is doing what I want to do. Making the music I want to make from the deepest part of my soul and folks pick up on that.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Tough question. A lot of people call it: Existential country music. But you can’t put my shit in a box man!

Just kidding, you can it u wanna. Anyways, probably most proud of my last record: Krishna Country Gold.. a fusion album combining Vedic Philosophy and instrumentation with western country music. But even more excited about my upcoming album “Alabama Samurai” will bring Kung Fu into Country music: WuTang meets Waylon 👐 cutting that at The Greenhouse in ATL with Aaron Hill aka Loud Dave Noise and Rosey5d.
Also just signed a record deal with ASC Records in Montgomery AL ran by the idiosyncratic mad genius Brett Robinson and tenacious singer/songwriter my boy Ritch Henderson.

And hell naw it hasn’t been easy lol. This path is hard.. even harder trying to maintain yer moral codes while doing it. But it’s been a gr8 journey so far, every step of the way: the good the bad the happy the sad and everything in btwn. Been blessed by the maker to do what I love.. whatever come of it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well they’d be coming to Demopolis AL and there’s not shit there lol. But I’d take em down to Foscue Park. That place is balling sahnnnn..

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A lot of ppl: Aaron n Rosey Hill at The Greenhouse in ATL. Brett Robinson at ASC Records in Montgomery AL. Christy at Idylwild. Electric Blue Yonder. JP Molpus at Seven Bridges Studios. All the musicians who have joined me over the years fer live shows, albums, songwriting. My buddy Stephan Pruitt at Fiasco Media. Wade Allen. Rob Tomik. My boy Cleve. My boy lil Doo Doo.
WuTang clan.. Scott Peek at Standard Deluxe. Scott Thompson and Amy. EJ Petty, Willmatic, and GUMBOSA. Gus Clark and Tori. My girl Libby.

Finally, My dear Mother, Father, Sister, & Brother who have been to hell n back with me.. n last but not least: NANA aka Ol Lady aka HER MAJESY. (And everyone who I forgot along the way, the whole world, love all of y’all)
