We had the good fortune of connecting with Barbara Pike Gonzales and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Barbara, what principle do you value most?
I have built my personal branding and PR agency, G Force PR, on the principle that women should be empowered to know, show, and grow their worth. As an entrepreneurial woman and mother of two daughters, I simply can’t accept that women continue to play small and hide their true value. Oftentimes this behavior and mentality is a result of generational conditioning, and it’s my mission to break this cycle not only for my peers and clients, but for future generations of women.

What should our readers know about your business?
I stand here today as a woman with more than 20 years of professional experience – from an entry-level position (pre-internet and email!) to an agency owner. There are countless lessons learned, milestones achieved, and goals not yet reached weaved into these 20+ years.

The common thread throughout my career has been my constant drive to make an impact. Whether that was for my colleagues on the teams I served on, the markets I informed and influenced throughout my corporate career, or the women I support today with my agency – I’ve wanted to provide to others what I didn’t always receive myself.

A key example of this is in the core tenant of my work today. I empower women to know, show, and grow their worth. The world needs more women proudly owning who they truly are and confidently sharing the value they bring to the table. When women win, society wins. And this doesn’t happen when women play small and diminish their worth – despite our conditioning to do just that. This is where a strong and authentic personal brand and PR strategy comes into play in empowering women to raise their visibility, take up space and truly own their seat at the table.

Seeing other women unapologetically shine their light lights me up as well. It’s what fuels me every day to keep going.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many amazing places – where to begin? Walking Wash Park and then hitting one of the great restaurants on Gaylord would certainly be on the list! Perdida and Homegrown are personal favorites of my family!

I also love the Union Station area – Tavernetta, Stoic & Genuine and Sunday Vinyl are on the top of the list.

Pearl Street in Boulder and Cherry Creek North are both a must-see as well. Such great shops and restaurants!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A huge and heartfelt shoutout to the trailblazing women who have paved the way for women like me to succeed. By showing us what’s possible, you give us the courage to believe it’s possible for us as well, and it’s now our responsibility and great privilege to pay it forward to future generations.
