We had the good fortune of connecting with Beat’er Pan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Beat’er, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
I think that our Roller Derby League business helps the members in it, find people like-minded and helps foster adult friendships among one another that are otherwise hard to come by. We are a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community by being owned and managed by queer folk. It also helps the community around us by providing entertainment of an alternative sport and inspire others to go out of their comfort zone.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am proud of the community I have created for my league members. We are a loving, supporting, and empowering family. We pick each other up when we fall on the track or metaphorically. We enjoy spending time together and we enjoy hitting each other on the derby track. Our skaters feel safe, seen, and supported by their peers. We strive to be better skaters and to life one another up. Competition is secondary.
