Meet Beth Hackett | Independent Transformational and Personal Development Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Beth Hackett and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Beth, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My health and wellness business helps our community and the world in a variety of ways. Clients receive access to health and wellness services such as nutrition counseling, education, and resources to help individuals make healthier lifestyle choices. Additionally, I help with weight management and exercise programs. There are many opportunities to connect and enhance our sense of community by providing a safe and supportive environment to come together and share experiences and success. Two out of three adults in America are overweight or obese and one out of three are obese. We all want to live healthy lives but aren’t sure where to start. The components of my program give people the tools to break through unhealthy habits and create a lifestyle that supports health. Living a healthier and more engaged life builds a person’s confidence and gives them the energy to engage in their community and the world around them. My business also helps raise awareness about important health issues and provides tips to minimize the effects of those issues on daily life. It creates jobs and a stable source of income, which helps stimulate the economy. I am proud of the individual lives and communities my business has impacted.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My name is Beth Hackett, and my company is Health, Hope, & Success, LLC. I am an Independent Transformational and Personal Development Coach. I’m proud of my own health journey, as well as helping thousands of people create health in their lives over the last four years. I’m excited about growing my business and honored to link arms with clients as we walk their journey together. I share my story to speak to the person who is defeated, frustrated and at the end of their patience. I was there too, and I want you to know something. Whatever you wish for and dream of, you deserve it and you CAN create it. I believe in you and want to spark hope and self-confidence, so YOU believe in you.
What sets me apart in this business is the valuable experience I gained while working through my own personal health journey and the care I take in supporting clients. I am a good listener and believe in the importance of knowing where people are starting, understanding the barriers they face and guiding them to break through to create the transformation they desire. My purpose and passion is getting our community healthy.
My story is a work in progress and I’m proud of how far I’ve come. I’ve been obese most of my life, and as you can imagine, I’m familiar with the frustration of yo-yo dieting, the feelings of failure and the depression cycle we can get stuck in. After an injury at work, I was prescribed 14 different medications plus opioids over time and gained a tremendous amount of weight. After ten years of severe depression and addiction to those prescription medications, I went through detox. I lost 250 lbs., and kept that weight off for over ten years, but I was still obese and miserable. A month before my 50th birthday, I had a heart attack while working out. A year later, I decided to try one last option to take control of my health and started what I considered “as another diet”. I quickly discovered this program was so different than anything I’d tried before. I released 98 pounds in 11 months and transformed my life!
Yes, I still had challenges with sugar addiction, years of ingrained and unhealthy habits, destructive self-talk and poor self-esteem, but this time, I also had the support to learn new strategies and techniques which helped me take small steps towards my goals. Thanks to the help of my coach and a proven program, I began to understand the nutritional needs of my body, slowly shifted my unhealthy habits, one habit at a time and created a healthier mindset. People often ask me what has changed. My answer? What hasn’t changed? One of my greatest joys that came from health is getting to spend quality time with my family. Hiking, boating, four wheeling and even rock climbing have become part of my life. In February of 2022, I went skiing with my 27-year-old son for the first time in his life! Amazingly, because of my health and improved strength, skiing came more easily as a 55-year-old than it did when I was in high school. My self-confidence and beliefs transformed right along with my body, and that’s an amazing feeling!
I knew I wasn’t alone in this struggle and as I experienced the results and victories, I decided to help others who felt stuck and unsure of what to do. Was the process easy? No, not always. The nutrition plan I follow is simple, but the heart work and mindfulness took being intentional and consistent. Our minds, thought processes and habits are so important to our health. If there is not change in those areas, most people return to old habits and gain the weight back. There’s a saying, “Nothing changes, if nothing changes.” As a coach, I find great joy in linking arms with clients, helping people shift thought processes, establish healthy habits, work through obstacles, and foster knowledge, consistency, and intention in their lives. There is nothing better than watching the spark of belief light in someone’s eyes as they discover confidence in themselves again!
Along the way, I have learned so many lessons, strategies, and tools to navigate life and focus on what I can control. I understand what is healthy for our bodies, how to fuel our body well and how energetic we feel when eating well. Instead of eating every emotion and reacting to them, I learned how to manage emotions, step back and respond. We are all human and I strongly believe there is no such thing as perfection. Learning is what keeps us growing and moving forward in life, but looking at what we can learn from every challenge or setback puts us back in control. Coaching helps keep me accountable. I will always be in the process of creating my story and the life I envision. When I reach a goal, I set a new one. When life gets challenging and derails me, I pivot and get back into structure. As a health coach, I am honored to guide people through the challenges life sends our way.
Before starting my program, most people have a deep belief they can’t get healthy. I didn’t believe I could be healthy either. But, with the right tools, support, and education, you CAN create the life you want to live. Whatever that looks like and means to you, there is hope. You don’t have to do this alone. I can help you get into action. I believe in you!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love showing people around our amazing community! I am a history lover, enjoy exploring outdoors and being active.
The first place I usually show people is Flying J Ranch. We access a less populated part of the park up our street and it’s so beautiful. For a shopping adventure, I’d take my friend to A Borgata to experience the work of local artisans. Then we would visit my favorite Italian restaurant in the area, JJ Madwells. I love eating healthy with their caesar salad and blackened chicken.
Staunton State Park has many hiking and walking options that we are still exploring, but my favorite is the wonderful historic loop that includes the Staunton Cabin. It’s a fascinating tour of hisorical buildings with signs that share descriptions of each home. Next, we would check out our favorite mexican food restaurant, Mexico Lindo Family Restaurant.
How about some 4 wheeling? Last year, we took friends to Slaughterhouse Gulch near Bailey and had a blast! It’s an 11 mile loop, but apparently there’s been some damage with the rains this year. If the timing was right for a show, I’d take someone to see a play at Stagedoor Theatre.
We love this community and continue to explore, hike and do fun activities.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate this shoutout to my coach, Katie Moore, my clients, and my health community. Katie said yes to her health, and I observed as she transformed her health, changing her relationship with food and herself. As my coach, Katie showed me the possibilities I could create and supported me every step of the way on my health journey. I’m so thankful for her partnership as she guided and supported me as I created a business that is changing lives.
I’d also like to recognize my family for being by my side and allowing me to thrive. My husband, Stuart, son Travis, and daughter Nicole were with me each step of the way, supporting me as I made the changes I needed to. I couldn’t have done it without them.
I am grateful for the clients who say yes to their best life, are open to coaching and trust as we navigate some hard things together. Thank you for keeping me learning!
I am so thankful for both our healthy community and the coach community, which inspires and challenges me to learn and grow as we change lives, our community and the world together.
