We had the good fortune of connecting with Beth Mincher and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Beth, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have always been an adventurer, a bit of a wandering gypsy spirit, if you will. So, it only made sense to me that eventually, I would leave “conventional” work to make a mark, truly of my own. I am most myself, and at most my service to others when I am teaching, guiding or creating. I think the culmination of many different work positions in the recreation and hospitality fields led me to create my current business(es). I wanted to help people find their path to true happiness and wellness, but in their own way. My first entrepreneurial venture was “Elemental Wellness” – personal Health Coach. My mottos were/are “Health Begins with Happy”, “Find Your Element and BE in it” and “Enjoy Life More.” (~ELM, also my initials). That was the core message that opened the door, and gave me the confidence to really be my own boss, and create a life and business on my within that vision. As a Health Coach, my goal was to inspire people to discover themselves in a way that naturally led to better life choices. One of my biggest passions was essential oils, which I incorporated into my individualized health plans for my clients. Then, in 2018, my Mom passed, and I had a strong message from her. “Go Be Sunshine” was her message to me. In one of our of our last conversations that saying repeated over and over in my head. In 2019, I created “Be Sunshine” in memory of my Mom – it started with a logo, and that message of putting more love & light out into the world – finding someone who needs your Sunshine, and sharing that message.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Being self employed is the best (while also most challenging!) of all worlds! Sometimes I think people think my life is all about fun adventures and travels – which is great! And a huge part of that is true – as that’s a big part of me – road trips, and meeting people on my travels – asking THEIR stories, finding THEIR Sunshine moments, and sharing impactful memories which shape our lives. However, being self employed is also being “ON” all of the time! Which I love. I really am working (and playing) all of the time – which is what I love. Health Coaching, being a positive role model to actually LIVE & BREATHE the lifestyle, turned into the message of Be Sunshine – which I think is so important. I want people to realize their worth, their importance in this world, and that they too have a message to share. I think the message really began when I created my mission & values for health coaching – the reason I chose “elemental wellness” was because life, earth is made up of elements – each unique – just like us. And we are most successful, happy and healthiest when we define our own truth and live by our own elements. I think that self love, self confidence, and self worth are some of the most important things we can attend and attest to, especially right now – as we forge our ways to higher consciousness and value on this ever changing planet.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I currently live in Buena Vista, Colorado! I am 2 blocks from the banks of the Arkansas River. And WATER (one of the elements!) has always defined me. Visitors here should take a hike down by the river on the Midland Trails. And stop by Black Burro Bikes, to pick up a rental and some trail info to explore the area. Of course a trip to the hot springs too – Mt Princeton and Cottonwood are our favorite local soaking spots. My favorite place to eat, is our local brewery/resturant – Eddyline. The people and food there create the ultimate small town experience. And of course in the Winter, you’ll find me cruising up to Monarch Mountain to ski – Colorado’s only “all natural” snow experience.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout is obviously dedicated to my Mom. The originator of the Be Sunshine vibe!
