We had the good fortune of connecting with Betsy Lay and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Betsy, how does your business help the community?
The Lady Justice Brewing Company was founded in 2014 to brew beer to make the world a better place. We dedicate time, space, and money to nonprofits and community partners that support and empower women, girls, and non-binary folks in the state of Colorado. That means every Lady Justice beer you enjoy is changing a life. We do this through sales of our annual mug club memberships and through a dedicated draft line in our taproom that donates $1 per pour of that beer. We’ve donated over $60,000 since 2016.

What should our readers know about your business?
Lady Justice Brewing is a community-focused brewery that uses our beer and our taproom to help make the world a better place. We love our customers and our staff and we know that people who choose to spend their money with us are choosing to give back to their community. We’ve learned that our greatest strength is providing a comfortable space for folks who are choosing to support us. We strive to make our space one that welcomes people who aren’t the stereotypical craft beer crowd and we love introducing new people to our business.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
You can’t beat spending a couple of days in our neighborhood of Downtown Englewood. We’ve got everything you need for food, drink, and shopping: Mutiny Information Cafe, Brewability, Fellow Traveler, Englewood Grand, Zomo, and more. Outside of Englewood, we’d catch a show at Mission Ballroom with dinner at Safta.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
