We had the good fortune of connecting with Bodhi Calagna and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bodhi, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
As a psychedelic guide, hypnotherapist, and sound alchemist, my mission is to be a beacon of transformation and healing in a world that often feels chaotic and fragmented. I weave together ancient wisdom and modern practices, creating sacred ceremonies with sacred mushrooms, therapeutic hypnosis, and immersive soundscapes. My work provides a sanctuary for those navigating life’s transitions, seeking healing, and yearning for deeper connections.

In my ceremonies, individuals are held in a safe, nurturing space where they can explore the depths of their consciousness and uncover profound insights. The sacred mushrooms act as a catalyst, opening doors to inner realms where true healing and transformation occur.

In some cases, I use hypnotherapy as a preparation for ceremonies and as an integration tool afterward. This helps individuals to release limiting beliefs and traumas and to ground and process their experiences.

As a sound healer, musician, and DJ, I bring my highly intuitive skills into each ceremony, curating an experience that weaves together carefully crafted soundscapes to harmonize energy and foster deep peace and wholeness. Blending live instruments, original music, and sound healing tools. I create an immersive auditory journey that aligns the mind, body, and spirit, facilitating each individual’s profound and unique healing and transformation.

By facilitating these transformative journeys, I empower individuals to rediscover their authentic selves and heal old wounds. This ripple effect extends beyond the individual, touching families, communities, and ultimately the world. As each person heals and evolves, they bring more light, compassion, and understanding into their interactions, fostering a more harmonious and loving society that cares for the planet and all living beings.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
With over 30 years of experience, I’ve been deeply immersed in the world of DJing and electronic dance music. Under the moniker CALAGNA, I produce tracks spanning house, deep house, organic house, and deep tribal genres. Recently, I’ve also ventured into creating ambient ceremonial soundscapes for plant medicine journeys and psychedelic therapy under the alias bodē. My DJ journey began in 1992 at the age of 16, and while the path was fraught with challenges, my relentless dedication and perhaps a touch of Virgo perfectionism fueled my drive. Breaking into a scene that didn’t always fit my unique style was daunting, but I learned to trust my intuition over fleeting trends. Despite not always aligning with mainstream popularity, it was this very individuality that eventually carved out my niche and earned me a global following.

I’m now creating music specifically for the ceremonies I hold, which is a beautiful new pivot that nourishes both my soul and my clients in profoundly fulfilling ways. While I continue to DJ and perform at shows each year, playing music in ceremony resonates on an entirely different vibration. I’m truly embracing and loving the creative space I’m in now, where this new dimension of my work enriches the experience for everyone involved.

My practice, Remix Your World, embodies this very essence—guiding individuals through transitions, pivots, and life changes. It reflects my commitment to helping people navigate their own transformative journeys with grace and resilience, just as I have in my artistic and therapeutic career.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Colorado is stacked with beauty and adventure. To start, I’d take my friend on a morning hike at Chautauqua Park in Boulder, followed by indulging in my favorite gluten-free scone from Spruce Confections and a relaxing stroll along Boulder Creek. Right now, I’m really into the e-bike experience, so renting one for a day would be a must—we’d have a blast exploring Boulder on two wheels.

A drive up to Rocky Mountain National Park is essential. There’s something magical about seeing someone’s reaction when they first spot elk in their natural habitat. I love long drives with great music and deep conversations, so road trips are definitely on the agenda.

We’d also need to catch a show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre—it’s one of the most iconic venues on the planet. For a unique and powerful experience, I’d take them to an Ecstatic Dance event, either in Boulder on Sunday nights or Rhythm Sanctuary in Denver on Thursdays.

For tasty eats, Osteria Marco’s and Water Course Foods in Denver, and Sherpas in Golden or Boulder. Denver’s art scene is incredible, so Meow Wolf, the Denver Art Museum, and the Botanical Gardens are must-visit spots. For sweet treats, Sweet Cooie’s in Denver, Sweet Cow, and Gelato Boy in Boulder are my top picks. My mouth is watering just thinking about all these places now!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My beloved friend Ash Ruiz is more than just a mentor to me; he’s my cherished Booru. He’s a non-dual teacher, plant medicine facilitator, curandero, joyous song weaver, and modern mystic. Ash enriches every moment we share with playfulness, profound learning, and infectious laughter. His presence fills my life with immense joy, and I feel deeply blessed to call him my best friend. When we hold a ceremony together, it’s truly magical. He’s such a beautiful gift to this world.
