Meet Briana Rorex | Stay-at-home Mother & Founder of Queens Wrld Boutique

We had the good fortune of connecting with Briana Rorex and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Briana, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Growing up and even till this day Fashion has been my outlet and has helped me with my experience of mental health issues such as depression, post partum, and low self-esteem.
Developing Queens Wrld is derived from us wanting to be that outlet for other women!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Right before I started my business I quit my regular 9-5 job, I had a 1 year old son at the time, and I was living with my Mother. I felt very discouraged and fell into deep depression with my situation. Then it clicked! I realized that I felt more confident just by simply getting dressed up – I felt like I could accomplish any goal that I had.
The only problem was I couldn’t find great quality clothing stores that were actually affordable! I also noticed that many mainstream clothing companies didn’t have any real message behind their brand. That’s how Queens Wrld Boutique came alive!
Queens Wrld is about showing that no matter the circumstance or what others may think/say, ALL women deserve to be successful. ALL women deserve to look and FEEL beautiful, worthy and accept their flaws despite the societal standards of beauty.
Unlike many mainstream clothing stores, we serve trendy and great quality clothing at an affordable price! Especially during these times, many women who are in middle or low income areas that can’t afford the current mainstream clothing stores need an outlet to have choices and feel beatiful! The choices of looking dressed up or dressed down and actually being comfortable but not at a pricey rate.
There’s a lot that I’m excited about regarding Queens Wrld – I plan on starting my own storefront or office space to create more exposure for my business as well as multiple employment opportunities for others. To me, being a business owner isn’t just about how you can help yourself, but how you can put others in a position to better themselves as well!
It’s not only about making sales and being the “top notch” clothing store, it’s also about the importance of consistency, patience, and perseverance to keep a successful business going!
With me starting my business right at the beginning of the COVID pandemic (2020), it has NOT been easy! Gaining sales and providing the proper funds to maintain and operate my business WITHOUT having a job was one of the biggest challenges.
But my biggest motivation to keep going in my business has not only been providing for my family and creating generational wealth, but to also be an outlet for others – whether it be regarding mental health or providing employment for those who need it!
Right now, Queens Wrld Boutique is under construction for re-branding and we will back & better come March 2022!! So be on the lookout!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout all of my clients and supporters of my business. As well as a special shout-out to my amazing friend and boyfriend, Jay Jay Jones! He has invested his time, support and money into my business and I’m very appreciative to have such an amazing man in my life!
