We had the good fortune of connecting with Brie Pines and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brie, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I spent my early 20’s nose to the grind stone balancing D1 athletics and 3 majors in the pursuit of medical school. After being completely drained and turned into a shell of a human, my partner told me I could do anything I wanted to do.

I think for the first time in my life I was ready to chill. I recalibrate my goals. Packed my bags and moved to Colorado. I had always been in love with my camera. But it wasn’t until I started truly exploring the mountains that I unlocked my passion for photography.

I started doing small jobs here and there for friends and family and eventually got booked for engagement and weddings. More than anything I really fell in love with making people feel beautiful.

My pursuit of an artistic career was an accident. And a perfect storm of inspiration, passion, and love for humans.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My ability to connect with anyone has always been what’s set me apart from others.

I have an organic ability to pour love and admiration into anyone I meet. By being my goofy self I really put everyone at ease. I think this aspect of my personality makes my clients comfortable and able to relax behind the camera.

I’ve always struggled with confidence in my own abilities. I’ve learned to quiet that voice and focus on making my work the best it can be and let the result speak for itself.

I think photography is a journey of continuous learning. I’ve leaned on many other photographers for inspiration and education.

The greatest advice I can give is to invest in yourself and never stop reaching for opportunities to learn.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am in love with Colorado. It’s hard to pin point a couple places because there are so many that deserve recognition.

But if I were to plan my perfect day it would be something like this:

3am wake up: sunrise hike at chief mountain or devil’s head look out

10am: after our morning hike I would go to Launch Espresso Food & Spirits in Morrison. We had our wedding reception there and they are truly some of the kindest humans, not to mention their food and coffee is so good!

12pm: Explore Tennyson go shopping at Feral outdoor thrift store & get ice cream at High Point Creamery.

1:30pm: Grab takeout from Jaipur Indian Restaurant in Boulder and head to Flagstaff road in Boulder, find a picnic table in the shade. Explore Pearl street after. Get second icecream at Gelato Boy. Get a beer at Avanti Food & Beverage for Mtn Views.

3pm: Finish your day at Linger followed by third icecream at little mans & walk around Highlands for a bar hop.

9:pm: in bed, thinking why did I eat soo much icecream

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There is no one more deserving of recognition for my personal development than my best friend & soul mate. Ryan if you are reading this, there are not enough words in this world to truly express my gratitude towards you.

We’ve been together since I was 15 and both children. He has been my rock through everything. Supported me financially, emotionally, and continuously poured into my cup when it was half full with no second thoughts.

I would not be the person I am today without his steady love, and encouragement to be my true self.
