We had the good fortune of connecting with Brienna Wagner and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brienna, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think risk tends to have a scary & negative connotation. I view risk as opportunity. I have taken many risks throughout my career and sometimes they work out and other times not so much. Taking chances on people, projects, and career choices; right or wrong, good or bad, it always teaches me something new. To be able to adapat and evolve in the creative industry you have to be willing to put yourself out there.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I always felt this draw to be collaborative with diverse people within a creative environment. Honestly, a lot of my time is spent nuturing relationships with individuals and companies. Being a good listener takes time and effort but if done well allows you to bring your client’s vision to life in the most thoughtful way.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Wisconsin is such a beautiful state! I love being out on any of the natural lakes we have in the area. They each have their own unique personalities whether your looking to party or just have a relaxing day kayaking with friends. When I’m in Milwaukee, The Third Ward is always great for shopping and food. A few of my favorite things to do in the city is go to the Milwaukee Public Museum and eat at Storyhill BKC.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I started my career at a small wholesale design firm in Chicago. The owner of the company loved to nurture young talent and saw potential in me. I was able to travel around the world and design products for big brands. I am forever grateful to him for showing me the importance of hard work and innovation.
