Meet Brittany Abate | Digital Marketing Business Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Abate and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittany, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I believe if you want big things to happen for yourself, you have to be willing to take risks. However, risk taking is not for everybody. You must understand that going all in on something is not always going to work out in your favor. Therefore, it is important to take calculated risks as opposed to just going in blindly on something. It is also crucial to have the mentality of never giving up and picking yourself back up when you fall. You cannot be scared to fail because failure is a part of the journey to success.
I think every business owner can say they took a risk when they decided to start their own business. I always hated the 9 – 5 life. I found it dull, boring, and I hated being told what to do. I did not like the fact that I was working towards someone else’s dream when I could be working towards my own. But there were so many risks involved with leaving. At my corporate job I had health insurance, a 401k, and steady weekly income. What if I left this all behind and failed? How would I pay rent while searching for clients and getting started? How long will it take until I am making a profit and able to support myself? These are all thoughts that regularly crossed my mind and kept me from starting my business sooner.
It was during the peak of the pandemic when I took the leap and began my journey as a business owner. Since I provided digital marketing and social media services, this worked out in my favor because a lot of businesses were heavily relying on the internet and social media during this time. I had one client at the time of establishing my LLC that was providing me with a part-time stream of income, as well as an Etsy shop. This is what got me by after quitting my 9-5. While it would not have been enough long-term, it did the trick for a few months and allowed me the time to establish my business, create a website and vet new clients.
I am proud to say that the risks I took paid off as I am currently running a digital marketing business that is more successful than I ever could’ve imagined. While I did take risks along this journey, I had a solid plan behind these risks. I also had a plan “B” and “C” established incase certain paths I took failed (which some certainly did). If you are considering doing something that could change your life for the better, or something that you have dreamt of your whole life, I say take the risk and do it. Just make sure you have a solid plan lined up for every scenario that could occur, and as cliché as it sounds, do not give up.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting Denver I would be sure to take them to do the following:
– Coffee at Blue Sparrow Coffee.
– Yoga in Cheesman Park.
– Hike Garden of the Gods.
– Shop at local shops in Rino.
– Dinner and drinks at Happy Camper.
– More drinks at Finn’s Manor.
– Concert at Redrocks.
– Hit another show at Black Box.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to thank my boyfriend, Kendall Dron, for supporting me through the ups-and-downs of this journey. Thanks for loving me unconditionally at my worst and at my best!
