We had the good fortune of connecting with C.L. Fondal and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi C.L., Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Perseverance! This is so important to me and has kept me sane honestly. It’s amazing when we as people are feeling motivativated, focused, and strong. But what keeps me going when I feel scattered, scared, and confused…Perseverance. The will to always want to be better or find a way out of no way is what keeps me going. Perseverance is my best friend!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Exert from my website;

C.L. FONDAL”S MUSIC IS ELECTRIFYING, ENERGY PACKED, AND CAPTIVATING! SHE TEAMS UP WITH ONE OF THE MOST TALENTED ELECTRONIC DRUMMERS IN COLORADO, MITCH WEINER TO COMPLIMENT HER SOUL HOP, R&B, FUNK, ROCK DRIVEN MUSIC. THE POWER AND GRACE OF HER MUSIC IS ACCENTUATED BY DRIVING ELECTRONIC DRUMS AND PERCUSSION CREATING AN INFECTIOUS AND SOULFUL DANCEABLE VIBE. HER DYNAMIC LYRICS, LIFE MESSAGE, AND ENERGY CREATE A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE THAT IS VERY POWERFUL.!

My music is base off of real experiences that I either have lived through, observed, or heard about. I’m inspired by the human condition. My song Will Be Alright which I will be releasing in 2024 is about self empowerment. I have songs about finding love, losing love, and perseverance in the face of adversity. Putting my heart, soul, and essence into my music sets me apart.

I’m proud about all the new music I will be dropping in 2024 so stay tuned!

The best way to describe my process to getting where I am and where I want to be is “slow and steady wins the race”! This journey has not been a piece of cake but it is definitely worth it. Perseverance is how I have overcome my obstacles. I can take small breaks but I can’t stop.

The most important lessons I have leaned are not being discourage by people letting me down and being patient with my journey. I definitely have to keep reminding myself of these things.

I want the world to know that every word I wrote and every note I sang came from a place of authenticity, conviction, truth, and fun. My hope is that all who listen to my music are able to hear and absorb this from it!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Denver Metro Area-

I like to eat so…
Monday-African Grill and Bar on Santa Fe
Tuesday-Go Fish Sushi on Broadway
Wednesday- Welton Street Cafe on Welton Street
Thursday- The Ethiopian Food Truck and Konjo in Edgewater
Friday-NOLA Voodoo Tavern and Perks on Bruce Randolph
Saturday-Dazzle Denver on 14th Street for food and live music
Sunday- My place where I would cook a delicious meal for my company

I like to go latin dancing at La Rumba on W. 9th Ave on a Friday night
We can catch either a play or a musical at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts
Go shopping at the Flatirons Mall
Take a road trip to Grand Lake or Red Rocks
Field trip to the Denver Art Museum
Maybe a Rockies or Broncos games in person

That’s all I can think of at this time but I know there is a lot more!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My first shoutout would be to my mother, she taught and modeled persevering in the best way and I will always be grateful! I’m thankful to my family but especially my cousins Shicola and Tiffany, they have been amazing. I have some amazing friends who have really supported me on my musical journey and still do. I want to thank Julie, both Vanessa’s, Matthew, John Baldwin, Jacob, and Myke. I want to thank Pipes for putting me on his line up for live shows when I wasn’t the most confident. That exposure propelled my artistry and live performances. My father wasn’t really in my life consistently but he left behind his vinyl records which allowed me to cultivate my beautiful obsession with soul music. Most importantly I want to shoutout every person who has streamed my music, watch my videos, and watched me perform live! They are so important!
