Meet Cas Altrich | Baker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cas Altrich and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cas, what inspires you?
I love trying new things, coming up with unexpected combinations, and unique cake flavors.
I also love seeing the smile on people’s faces when they love what they’re eating.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I like doing unexpected things. The flavors, the decorations anything that will make a customer say “wow”.
I went to culinary school years and years ago, but did not finish. Recently a coworker jokingly asked for a cake as a repayment for her help. I decided I would make that cake. It got so many compliments on taste and appearance I decided to make another, with the same results. Soon I was a contestant in the “Greatest Baker 2024”. I made it to the 4th round. Now I want to push myself to do more. It has lite a fire in me.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
It would depend on the friend. There are so many options here. If I were to think of one friend in particular. We would do a photoshoot (we’re both models) with Pikes Peak in the background. Which would take a day and a half just to shop for, maybe someplace like Springs Bridal. Definitely have to have brunch at Omlete Parlor. A nice dinner at Four by Brother Luck. And there would be no shortage of farmer’s markets to find fun ingredients to bake with.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family is a huge support system. From bringing my supplies to the kitchen and endlessly washing dishes, to recommending my services to others. I would not be able to any of this without them.
