We had the good fortune of connecting with Cassandra Cooper and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cassandra, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risks are definitely scary especially when you know you either can fail or succeed. Every risk I’ve taken for myself or my business was because I knew God wouldn’t put me in any situation I couldn’t handle. I also know that if I do fail, I just need to find an alternative where I can still achieve the goal. My first major risk in my business was basing it around Cannabis. I didn’t know how people would perceive it and I was scared I would be judged. So thankful I took that risk because there’s so many of my clients who really want what I have to offer but just hadn’t found anyone who could do it or have never heard of cannabis and skincare in the same sentence and are very much amazed! My second biggest risk was moving from my hometown Indianapolis and pretty much starting over here in Denver. I didn’t know if I would have a clientele or if I would get any support being that cannabis is an everyday routine here. But again, that risk was a great one too! For the short time being here, I’ve already bridged the gap of cannabis and skincare with my clients and get to comfortably be able to display my skills with each client that sees me. Although risks may be scary, sometimes taking the risk is necessary for you to evolve as a person.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’m a dual licensed esthetician and master esthetician in cannabis in skin. I offer CBD facials, body treatments, full body waxing, intimate bleaching and lash extension services. I also retail the wonderful ColorUp line that is made here in Denver! What sets me apart from other estheticians is that I only use CBD products (besides my Bumpin’ Facial for pregnant mothers) for two reasons: 1. To educate and get rid of the negative stigma behind cannabis and 2. The properties of the plant are really healing and everyone should experience it! I already had a love for cannabis but in Indiana since it’s not legal, it’s really hard to get people to understand you. Once I evolved as a person, I began to take my business more serious and changed my business name from Brow’d by Cass to Evolve Esthetics LLC. Once people saw that I became more serious and more passionate about my business, my clientele grew like clockwork! My clients loved how authentic and true I was about cannabis and how I a true advocate on why cannabis and skincare CAN work! It definitely wasn’t easy to get to that point. I had doubters believing that I wouldn’t get far due to me making cannabis the center of my brand or was scared to even have an appointment with me thinking they would get drug tested. All of it just motivated me even more to remain true to myself and have my work speak for itself. As my business was growing, my heart and love for Denver told me I should move. It just made sense to come here- people already knew about cannabis, a fresh start and I wanted to take the risk of being successful from scratch again. I think from all of this, my biggest lesson to anyone in any field- KEEP PUSHING AND STAY TRUE TO YOURSELF! Once you evolve into the person you know you can be, everything truly falls into place. You can be successful and still love cannabis. I do and it’s changed my life and my business completely. Let’s get rid of the negative stigma on cannabis and realize there’s other ways it can benefit everyone.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So prior to me moving to Denver, this was my favorite city to visit! I would definitely say we’d have to go to the mountains. It’s just a new world and perspective up there that it’s a must to see! Eating, omg I don’t even know where to begin!!! Denver Biscuit Co is probably my top favorite place so breakfast there for sure. A must go to is Smith & Cannon’s Ice Cream! Big shoutout to Curt and his business, great coffee and ice cream no questions asked! As far as food, Blue Moon, Grabowskis Pizzeria, Los Gallitos, King of Wings, Uncles are by far my favorite places so far. I would take them somewhere that has good cocktails and music. Always a great time when you can unwind and be with people you enjoy/love the most! There’s so much to do in Denver so I’d make everyday a new adventure honestly.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My love Josh definitely deserves some credit! Here’s the reason I got enrolled in esthetics school in the first place! He knew I could go far and believed getting my license was the first step. Another person would be my dad! I’m such a daddy’s girl and just love telling him all my ideas of what I want to do with my business! Not only does he give the best advice, his support for me is way more than I can ask for and I’m so grateful!
