We had the good fortune of connecting with Cha Cha Romero and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cha Cha, what principle do you value most?
Dedication loyalty honesty and integrity. With out the true grit of those factors you cannot be successful! Do as you say and say as you do! Chingona status!!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I alway’s wanted to be a Nurse growing up,but I also had this epic creative side. I knew that I would have to choose one over the other for a short time. I was a single Mother working two full time jobs and going to school. I completed my Nursing degree not without sacrifice. When I was established, I began my journey to redesign my artistic brand. During this time I’ve participated in many Burlesque show’s,fashion shows, television, movies, Queer events and so much more. I have one AMAZING team filled with unique and talented artists. Together we make Vanity Dollz and Boi Femme productions. The base of my brand is empowering others to live without restrictions. You can do anything you want and I’m living proof of that. It’s about dedication, motivation and the will to push through. My life has not been easy, but I made some of my dreams happen. Being a Nurse in the Emergency Room I absorb life, death and everything between. Having a creative outlet is so important to keep my emotions balanced. I’m a tough person, but we all have our weaknesses. I would say this time during Covid has most definitely challenged my ability to stay strong, but I’ve manged to do it. I look forward to create some epic events and fashion collections. I’ve had plenty of time to think about what I want to do next, so stay tuned.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
California! San Diego and L A are my 2nd homes. I would take my friends on a bike ride to the beach or a coast drive! So many places to eat and drink! I can’t even begin to discuss all the urban art you can find by just walking down the street. We would most DEFINITELY shop in the fashion district and Santee alley. We would take a boat ride and body surf! Relax in some boujee spa and eat sushi on the beach! Take in the nightlife in WEHO. So much to do and see….
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate my story to women and men who never give up and make your dreams happen!
