We had the good fortune of connecting with Chadley Zobolas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chadley, how do you think about risk?
I’ve slowly become less and less risk averse throughout the years, which is a shift that’s been an absolutely crucial part of building my practice (shout out to my own therapy for that!) I believe that most (if not all) transformation and growth innately come from taking risks.

That being said, we’re often holding a lot as business owners, and in my case specifically I want so badly to do right by clients, my employees, and the younger versions of myself who never believed I was capable. All of these pieces make every move feel so, so vulnerable.

One of my biggest growth edges at the moment is learning to trust my intuition around risk, determining whether the risk is aligned with my values, and then leaning into the inherent discomfort that comes along with it.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
CZ Therapy Group is a therapy practice in the Platt Park neighborhood of Denver that specializes in affirming, compassionate, and connection-centered therapy for trauma and relationships. We use therapy approaches that are rooted in the nervous system and that center the healing potential of safe relationships at the core of our work.

Specifically, we specialize in therapy for attachment/relationship trauma, disordered eating, religious abuse, grief, couples, queer folks, and families.
When I first opened my practice in 2020 it was just me, meaning my sole focus was on creating a values-driven space for my clients. I crafted my practice around the values of anti-oppression, undoing aloneness, and the transformative power of connection.

When it came time to hire a second therapist for the team, I found that the values I held for my work with clients seamlessly set the tone for the environment I wanted to create for my employees.

Therapists need to be able to take great care of themselves to be able to provide exceptional support for their clients. Unfortunately, our field has historically done an awful job at this part. This is a soapbox I won’t get off of until we see some major changes, and in the meantime, I’m proud to be able to provide a space for therapists to get their needs met emotionally, financially, and relationally.

What is the mark you’d like to leave on the world?I know I can speak for the entire practice in naming this one!

We shouldn’t have to move through any part of life alone — and our nervous systems were never built to in the first place!

Whether it’s through the exciting, joyful, and thrilling parts of life or the heavy, traumatic, and grief-stricken parts, connection increases our capacity to transform, grow, and deepen our human experience. Simply put, this is the mark we hope to leave on our community of clients and therapists alike.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Naturally the first thing that comes to mind is an Italian dinner to start off with. As a pasta connoisseur it feels nearly impossible to pick a favorite spot, but some great options are Odyssey, Carmines on Penn, and Venice. Then nothing beats a morning walk around Sloans with a latte and an afternoon stroll through the Pearl Street Farmer’s Market — of course we’d bring my dogs Evie, Benson, and Gigi!

You’d think that living here my entire life (minus one magical year in San Francisco) would leave me with a whole laundry list of must-dos, but I’m actually realizing some of the ways being local leads me to take the city for granted.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
CZ Therapy Group simply wouldn’t be the practice it is without our incredible team of therapists.

I always knew I didn’t want to be in this alone. Thankfully, some pretty badass humans feel similarly and have joined me in co-creating a practice that I could have only dreamed of a few years ago.

I attribute so much of my recent growth as a therapist, leader, and human to their heart for this work, their willingness to challenge me, and their friendship.
