We had the good fortune of connecting with Chelsea Beers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chelsea, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success in my career is belief. Belief in myself, my vision, and that I am capable of achieving whatever I put my mind to. I think belief is the number one thing that holds people back from living the lives they want to live. A lot of people might want to start their own business but they don’t believe that they can succeed. So, they never even try. And I think that’s true of anything in life. If you don’t believe you’re capable of doing something, you’re never going to try to achieve it. Or, say you muster up the courage to start the journey, which is freaking fabulous! But, if you still don’t believe in yourself along the way, you’ll give up the second things get hard or uncomfortable (which happens a lot as an entrepreneur.) You must have an unwavering belief in yourself and in your vision. If you do, then giving up is no longer an option. I think belief is the driving factor behind any type of success.

What should our readers know about your business?
My practice is Living Well Like a BOSS. A health & lifestyle brand that focuses on empowering my clients to take responsibility for their well being and be the BOSS of their health. I offer mindset & meal prep coaching & therapeutic massage. Most recently I’ve been working on launching my newest business venture, BOSS Box. A local meal prep pick up service in Steamboat Springs CO. BOSS Boxes are something I planned to implement later on in my career, but thanks to covid, my dream is becoming a reality faster than I ever imagined. A BOSS Box is a badass, done for you meal kit that makes eating well delicious, easy, and fun! It takes the stress out of meal planning, prepping, and cooking, so you can focus on the things in life that are most important to you. Each Box includes pre-prepped & pre-portioned meals with easy to follow digital recipes. All items and ingredients are scratch made, real food recipes, that are gluten free, refined sugar free, and have to option to be dairy free. Food that you can feel good about eating and serving to your family! At BOSS Box we think health food gets a bad rap. And that’s we make flavor and quality are our top priorities. Above all, we want food that that you not feel good about eating, but that you are actually excited to eat too! The biggest thing that sets us apart from other meal kits and prep services on the market, is our ever famous BOSS Sauce. Our line of 11 decadent, and flavor packed sauces that pair with our recipes and meal kits. BOSS Sauce is the bread and butter of business and where the whole idea started. In our opinion, you can make just about anything taste good if you add a delicious sauce! With BOSS Sauce on your side, the days of dry and boring health food and far behind you. Each menu plan for our meal kits are based around a BOSS Sauce. Each week your box includes the BOSS Sauce and 2-3 meals options that pair with the sauce. Example: BOSS Sauce: Creamy Chipotle Sauce 1) Pork Carnitas Tacos w/Cabbage Apple Slaw & Creamy Chipotle Sauce 2) Chicken & Bacon Stuffed Sweet Potatoes w/Creamy Chipotle Sauce 3) Steak Fajita Bowls w/Creamy Chipotle Sauce BOSS Sauce gives us the ability to rotate menu plans in a way like no other company has done before. Our clients fall in love with the sauces giving them something familiar that they know they can trust. Then, we continually create new meal pairings for each sauce so they’re always presented with new fresh menu items that they can’t wait to try. It’s the best of both worlds and taps into a deep part of human psychology. Getting something familiar that you know you love, which is comfortable and easy, while also getting to mix things up so you don’t get bored of eating the same old thing. It’s a creative, out of the box (no pun intended) way to make each meal and menu stand out from the rest. So far, I’ve been in the testing process of this business. And the overwhelming positive response & feedback I’ve gotten in a short time, has catapulted me into building out a commercial kitchen in my live/work unit. So, I can officially launch BOSS Boxes onto the market in the summer of 2021. It’s been a long journey of pivoting these last couple of years. I started with online mindset and weight loss coaching. Then transitioned to in person meal prep coaching & classes. Then into online meal prep coaching & classes (due to covid) and finally pivoted my focus into my meal prep pick up service. Has it been easy? No. Has is been worth it. Yes. I’ve never felt more excited about the path I’m on in my business and what the future holds. Although the path has been a bit all over the place, I don’t think the journey of entrepreneurship is a straight and narrow road for anybody. Sometimes it takes a little while to figure out your true calling and the key is to hold onto your belief that the curvy, loopy, path your on, really is taking you to the right place. Covid has shifted my business, and pushed me forward in a way that I never expected. It’s tested my faith and my belief in myself like never before. Adversity and chaos can either make you or break you. Sometimes you just have to lean in, let go of control, and let the universe guide you. In the midst of the chaos I was guided further down my path and BOSS Boxes were born.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m not sure how much this applies to me because I don’t know if this is supposed to be for the city of Denver… But in my hometown of Steamboat, if it were winter time, I would take them to ski on the mountain and then for an apre lunch and beer at t bar, by far the best apre bar on the mountain. Then I would take them over to strawberry Park hot Springs. A beautiful, serene, natural hot springs that’s tucked away in the mountains. Then we would go enjoy sushi & sake at noodles and more. If it were summer time, we would go paddle board on the yampa river, go hiking in the zirkle wilderness to gilpin lake, do a sunset happy hour on the mountain, go to the farmers market, enjoy a free summer concert at howelson hill, go garage saleing, go to volleyball courts to watch the summer rec league play (basically the town social gathering of the week) and have margaritas and tacos/burritos by the river at taco Cabo. And at some point, whether it be summer or winter, we would make it over to Storm Peak brewing company so they could try the best beer in town. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Shoutout would have to be to my family, my friends, and especially my husband. It’s been a journey for me over the last few years navigating my career path and working towards my dreams. There’s been laughter, there’s been tears, and many ups and downs along the way. But through it all, my family, friends, and my husband Derek have stuck by me through it all. They’ve encouraged me when I’ve felt down and uninspired. And they believed in me and those moments where I was having a hard time still believing in myself. And, as I mentioned, belief is key!
